just a question... im not that far in yet... but later in the game, does the world ever end up feeling less... 'dead'? i dunno, world just feels kinda strange and empty. i know its supposed to be a bleak surreal noir'ish world, but it just doesnt feel like a living breathing world to me at the moment. do other areas have more life in them later in the game?
also why does this world have an utterly bizarre box fetish. is it an in-joke from previous games?
oh and finally, is there really any morality in the game? you know, in the way that the fallout games did it... do choices have consequences? if i kill random civilians in the street, does it have any impact on the game? if i opt to kill a thug instead of talking to him and convincing him (as a way to end a mission), does it really matter beyond xp differences and maybe some money or items or whatever?
The fact that most of the game takes place at night doesn't really help it feel alive, but there are a couple of chapters where the world does feel a bit more lively.
About the morality, there are a few situations where talking things out instead of just killing someone makes it so that later on they'll get in touch with you to replay you or something. The way you approach the game also affects the little speech jensen does in the end of the game.

I think you can still do it, Neon. The heavies walk towards the VTOL and you can stun them there - out of range of the blast. There are only 2 guys that stay near the bot and maybe you can drag them away behind cover. I don't think the snipers and the rest of the light soldiers can actually deal enough damage before you knock them out. So you just have to get rid of the heavies and the bot as soon as possible.

Spoiler:
Yeah, you can knock out all the soldiers, but if you throw the EMP to disable the robot, the explosion kills the nearby knocked out guys.
Spoiler:
It's all about positioning. I for one managed to disable that thing without anyone getting killed in the explosion. Just have to let the guys go past its position and KO them later.
I don't think robot explosion kills count. At least this happened to me:
Spoiler:
I stunned couple soldiers at that crash site with Malik, and tried to drag them out of the explosion range before the robot landed. It did not quite work and two of them died because of the blast (did use EMP). Took my chance and still got the achievement.
Yeah it wouldn't make much sense for him to stay in that pod. Assuming it's some kind of a stasis pod, it makes sense the user can set up some kind of a timer as to when to wake him up.
However, Jensen didn't know where he was going or how long was the trip going to take. There was no way to get him to wake up at exact time. He had to get out at least to find that out.
Him staying awake in the pod throughout the trip wouldn't make sense either, as he would need water/food since he would not be in stasis.
I wondered this when I first saw him getting out of the pod saying it's been three days. I'm glad it's explained in the DLC.
I didn't say anything that wasn't already said on the previous pages in the discussion regarding the missing link DLC.
And no, I don't think it could spoil any part of the story for you. It's very vague and you won't know what I'm talking about until you reach that point. And even when you do reach it you will see it has no little to no significance on the story.
