This game IS Gears of war in a different setting, its not a bad thing imo... but not that great either Im on chapter 3, and only played a little over an hours :/ So hope there are more than 10 chapters at least

Im afraid the gameplay is very similar Its like they just changed the color of the models But yeah... I haven't heard any football jokes yet So thats a plus. But seriously, parts of the HUD and menus look the same. Some of the weapons are very similar. The huge ass armors are pretty much the same (with different logos etc.). Parts of some missions are will make gears of war players go WTF :/ I don't care tho... for me its an improved Gears of War Killing Orcs are awesome^^
The only thing they left out is the cover system

90% of the time you are forced to hack'n slash the shit out of the enemies. Sure it is fun at first but getting tedious after you see the same finishers 100 times. Both games had big badass dudes, that's it. This game feels totally different compared to Gears.
Also, "big badass dudes" are distinguished greatly between the two games.
In GoW, "big badass dudes" means American football steroids-pumped jive-talking "macho" hurrdurrs.
In 40K, "big badass dudes" means "big badass dudes".
The lack of American college "humor" alone makes one game come on top tenfold.

I always have played console games, and computer games I was making simple games on the spectrum. I cant remember a little code for the spectrum but its a long time ago.
I was and always have used the pc for mapping and mod creation, I mainly use unreal ed, I love that editor. I also used hammer/world craft ( not for years ).
I was a team leader and was used to organising groups of people into subtasks so mod lead wasnt to hard for me.
I worked with some game industry people, most of them are fantastic with helping you with mod stuff and giving you permissions, Epic are tossers when it comes to community support with mods, even high profile mods, unless they think they can make money, you think they are like laid back cool guys but they aint.
I also worked on a space hulk mod, not for long I tried to get permission for them ( before GM made an official statement ), but they are hard to get an answer from, and at the time we were used to seeing Warhammer mods being given decist notices.

So why not just call the mod "HurrCraft" and do as others have done to get away with a familiar world and storyline.
I have always worked in the Car industry. One of mod team was from Isreal, a very, VERY talented bloke, he could do almost anything and really was a driving force behind he team.

You meet chaos in chapter 11. The first enemies wasn't that hard, but in chapter 12 its getting A LOT more challenging. And its all chacos now 3 different races fighting, WTF. This warhammer shit is teh shit
i'm enjoying it. as far as i know there are no jump packs in Gears. no cover system to speak of but plenty of action, lots of characters on screen with no slow down at all. yey JTAG
I just completed it. It just gets better and better. The lack of the possibility upgrade things yourself might be a downer for some. But tbh im kinda tired of that trend anyway... but the only thing that is upgraded is your special ability :/ With epilouge the game has 18 chapters

I was ready for a real bossfight when he sendt all his forces (last wave was pretty challenging on Normal). But the bossfight was lame QTE, WTF -.- but apart from that, great game
Anyway, much better than I expected. And see why this game is a little hyped.

I agree to most of your points. But epic music? I most of the time didn't even notice music in battles
But yea the story was pretty good, and the combat felt satisfying.
