there is a thread on xboxhacker about booting into hacked kernel..but it does not contain much.. people are doing it underground probably they are scared for ms.

Ive never heard of Freeboot but after Googling, it appears to have been around for some time. |
Remember the old style dash headshot? That is what you need to be on to be able to do the current jtag hack. It is not very often you come across them anymore, either rrod consoles that have sat unused or shop returns that have also sat in storage for a couple of years.
I'd forget about the old jtag hack for now, just sit and wait for the new glitch hack to become available, and hack a Jasper or slim..

Yeah the 'blades' one or something. I had that for ages at one point :/

Machine Ban. A couple of months ago he updated on accident and the new dash reflashed his console to stock. He then had it reflashed.

I might be in Bournemouth this October. Is there a chance to source a JTAG in this town for cheap? OR should I wait till this reset glitch hack matures and get my current Jasper hooked up with it?

The JTAG/Glitch stuff is something I am happy to admit I know next to nothing about. I generally tend to go all out and learn about things that are relevant to me, and having an updated Jasper meant JTAg was pretty much a no go. Now that the Glitch is out, I'll get my 360 done and then learn everything I can about it, but for now; you're probably best off asking Grale, Deelix, cyclonefr, et al.
If I'm not mistaken though, both this glitch and the JTAG exploit end up with pretty much the same result; you flash custom code to the onboard 360 NAND. The JTAG doesn't, to my knowledge, have any external NAND or ROMs - it still makes use of the default 360 NAND, as does this new CPU glitch. The difference comes from the implementation, though please feel free to correct that if I'm wrong. The reason why this Glitch exploit only works 1 in 4 attempts is to do with the timing itself.. it's not about stability or lack thereof, it's simply a matter of getting the exact timing whilst the CPU has been slowed down due to the reset pulse.

ohh good. i don't give a shit about xbl, So they might as well ban me as long as I will be able to installgames to hdd and save.
Seeing that I am not playing any games online anyway, I might hook up my box to the net only to be able to instal game updates just becouse now I dont care that I might be banned. (Tho right now I am installing updates via xtaf and usb stick- ?There isnt any easier way right?)
