Well, you still need to flash the drive - even on JTAGs and RGH - otherwise you can't run backup disks. Still, JTAG/RGH all the way!

the slim hd case is entirely unnecessary
i just took my old fat hd out and jammed it in my slim without any casing
just add some padding to it to keep it in place if you move the console around or set it upright
i just put a rubber cushion on the hd door so the hd pushes against the door a bit, keeping both in place

From TX forums, this isn't some average user like the other quote, so it's def not bs however, as mentioned in the quote, it's unconfirmed -- nonetheless, a small heads up for those who're thinking about getting a new slim just for RGH.

C4E's iXtreme LT+ 1.92 CFW out.
it seems to be 1.9 for slim some models. No XGD3 support yet

Yeah i saw a couple things on youtube. That's the kind of thing i am planning to do.
When i going to flash with newer LT1.91+ and i do the latest update my firmware will be locked for sure??
Maybe i'm going to wait for the RGH and LT+2.0...
Or don't update and play some older games on LT.1.91+... What did you guys do?

Surely Microsoft must have warrant out for c4eva or something! I really hope the 360 scene doesnt turn into the PS3 scene.

So is this a pure hardware based thing ??
Eg if I upgrade a 360 to play on live atm (legit) is this (exploit) something that can be done after that without a problem ??

Yes, it's pure hardware and requires several tools to write custom software to the internal NAND. Live machines are fine, but if you attempt to go on Live with a JTAG/RGH modded machine you'll be machine-banned within minutes.

You can't and you can't automatically download game updates either (that's the one and ONLY think I like about Sony's policy; keeping PSN and game centres separate. Even if you don't sign in, or are banned from PSN, you can still keep your games updated)

To be fair the download speeds on the xbox are a million times better. Also 99% of the updates that come out are for online portion of the game not for SP.

Isn't it just far easier to just have two gamertags. One for offline (hacked) and one for legit console? I appreciate achievements would go out the window but really does that matter?
I'm currently thinking about buying a slim before they protect against the new jtag/glitch methods. Considering I have 2 fully working consoles (ones banned though), I'm not convinced. Trade in ps3 is far more likely i think

Not sure about buying a slim either grimmmy. Just sold one of my jtags to fund a slim, now hearing about different mobo revisions and wondering if freedash will even be released I'm having second thoughts. If I get one it will be the Matt 4gb slim.

PSh, have faith. As long as we have some form of regular dashboard and the ability to run unsigned code, an isoloader will come in time. or thats what i keep telling myself.

I have no idea how things are going to work with the glitch hack. Presumably, people are afraid that whoever releases a new dashboard designed to be used with the glitch hack are going to do whatever they can to disable the ability to use it to pirate games.
