You mean like the old GD days? Let's hope so... though the doubter in me remembers that GD to CD conversions invariably meant downsampling video/audio, ripping video/audio or the ghastly split-disk method.

install this dash and then 1.91lt. Game should work allright

Do XGD3 discs say XGD3 on them?
Is there any way of telling if a game XGD3 by checking the disc visually?
Anyone know?

No. It has the new dash on disc witch will rewrite your firmware when you install it. It being the update, because you can't play the game without the update.
Long story short you need LT + 1.9 or higher.

Of course it didn't install the new dash because it was unable to write the new firmware. It still had a go though, didn't it.
