finally got the game. installed. loaded up, selected character.. and from there on - infinite loading...
tried with and without patch

I think I enquentered a possibly broken quest.
 Spoiler: | Accepted the quest to find the plane from a woman in the lighthouse but it doesn't show up in my journal. Am I fucked or can I still complete it? |

when i took a car for a drive (on the xbox version) i drove around and ran into a guy infront of a shack not far from the airport. He's a pilot. he asked me to bring in fuel.  and the marker for the plane showed up

don't extract the whole .pak file.
get WinRAR
start WinRAR
open the data0.pak file in WinRAR
navigate to Data>Skills
Extract default_levels.xml to desktop
don't close WinRAR
open the extracted default_levels.xml with notepad
search for CameraDefaultFOV within the extracted default_levels.xml
change the <prop n="CameraDefaultFOV" v="xx.x"/> where xx.x is the desired FOV
save the file
drag the modified default_levels.xml from your desktop back to the WinRAR window and click OK
BTW. The game plays much better with a XBOX 360 Controller (or XBOX 360 controller emulator). The menus/inventory etc. becomes much more tolerable. I highly recommend it.
Also, for AA I used the manual override in driver panel. Looks much better with edge detect. |
+1 on that and did exactly the same for the FOV as per the above also and it works perfectly....I dont understand why people have trouble with the data0.pak modifying...

you forgot to tell him how you get around the "file size hash check" problem after altering it. as game wont start up otherwise. |
I did not have that "Hash check" problem over here, just did the same as he did and it boots up fine....weird!

It updated the exact same files as the previous two patches, I have no idea what this one does as I assume the first one was from dev build to retail and the second were all those listed patch fixes so I wonder what the third update is changing.
EDIT: Version number is supposedly 1.2.0 now.

I'm off for one fucking day and suddenly 30 pages are posted. The only thing I know is that you guys somehow found a way to get rid of the buttery screen fx! (GIVE GIVE!)
Any links to tuts on how to fix aspect ratio and bloom/blur?

Found your post divvy but yeah it bugs out the shadows :\.
Hope there will be another way to AA this game. Really don't see why there's no support for it. We're in 2011 after all -_-.

Has anyone gotten the fifth character to work? Cracked steam shows it as well as the DLC, whereas legit Steam doesn't. But even in cracked Steam I can only start a new game with him then it boots me to the main menu after loading.
Also: Please upload the newest patch files somewhere.

His campaign (map basically.) is missing even though all related XML files and other data seems present, or so it seems from what I've checked.
(Character model is possibly also missing.)

JB, did you do any more research about turning off bloom? How about activating the Ryder dlc? I looked through most of the files from Data0.pak myself today and I couldn't manage to turn off the bloom in any way. I believe that the files for that dlc are not all in the game and some files for that seem incomplete, but I'm not sure. I'm asking you because you're the user here that will most likely help me fix this game (at least for me, I see that others are pleased with less).

Is there NO WAY to turn off in-game voice chat? Like me and my friend use Vent for everything game related, and the in-game voice chat is a piece of shit. Is there no way to turn it off?
