It's the double click bug. Don't double click the server in the list, just highlight it then click "Connect". If you doubleclick, it will always select another server.

My problem with the latest patch : they broke whatever SMG balance was before; the MP40 is now a full auto sniping machine, accurate at 120+ m, while the PPSh can't hit crap if farther than 20m, even in short bursts.

I think the game is better on 32 player servers. When you are on the 60 player servers sometimes the second you pop your head out of anywhere you die, it can become quite frustrating.

I tested it yesterday and all I can say is what a bullshit. The game is nothing special anyway but all those bugs and things you have to fight against to play the game.

I wasn't RO1 fan either but I just can't see anything positive with this game except that Tripwire tried to make something different.

There's something really wrong with the P38 pistol accuracy.
Today, just for the heck of it, i camped the top of the first Axis building on the Pavlov House map, sniping with the P38. In one life, i managed to kill two stationary guys at 100 and 133 m, two bullets each. The last one was actually headshot. The only bullet drop compensation i did was 1 mm above their heads.
I wounded a third (he was all the way in Pavlov house, at a window), cause he left a blood splash on the opposite wall, but he ducked before i could finish the job.

Edit : i absolutely fell in love with the PTRS. It is perfect for countersniping, you can actually kill enemies through their cover (walls, wood, metal doors) with it. It doesn't work through sandbags though.

escalibur - RO1 was great at the time - also RO2 looks great when I catch glimpses of what it can do - If you didn't like the first one then you shoulda probably stayed away from this. The ideas in the RO series simply aren't for so many ppl including yourself, obviously. If you don't get it then it's unlikey you ever will - and that's not me having a pop. It's just not for everybody.

But yeah I hope they sort the technical shit and fix the game anyway.

So left this after the first wave of the beta, was a buggy, laggy unoptomised mess.

Tried it out today, after the 2 patches.

Its a buggy laggy broken unoptomised mess.

12 hours to cancel my preorder methinks, are Tripwire serious? theyve been working with the unreal engine for years and years, yet its runs like shit even when you turn everything down and it looks like HL1, you get like 30fps, and seriously, you made RO1 and you cant get the server browsert to work correctly after two patches and it comes out tommorow? not to mention the fact almost half the maps insta-crash 90% of the userbases computers? wow, this is gonna get messy.

Doesn't run like shit for me (my pc is old nowadays) and it's not less or more buggy than other games (Dead Island Laughing ).

Better get your refund since you seem biased against it already.

90%? You're making this up. The game still needs optimisation, but it's not that bad.

I wouldn't be that eager for the release - if you haven't played the beta that is. If they pull this one out of the bag and manage to solve the performance issues by release time then I'd say they were an incredibly robust outfit but I don't see that happening. It actually may be that the game runs and plays better in SP and with bots but right now the MP seems to slow down with more people. For me, after the patch yesterday I have a much smoother performance but with meh graphics. The game is starting to look like I hoped it would but there's a way to go yet.

Are RO2 keys "region locked"? The cd keys being sold by key websites (CJS, OKS, G2PLAY, e.t.c) say that they can be activated anywhere and are region free. In that case, it may be cheaper to buy a russian key so was wondering.

I enjoyed the beta but I deleted it last night when I saw preload was available. One hour to go until release (if they don't put it back again).

The game has crashed a few times but it runs well for me on ultra detail, but my pc is only a few months old.

It's unlocking. Smile

EDIT: Actually it seems it's just updating the (Just finished ten minutes ago here.) pre-load files again, perhaps a last-minute update. Smile

EDIT: 2.6 GB. Razz
(Use the patched files in the first place next time.)

It might be why it was delayed, Unreal Engine 3 does use a rather low amount of files but they're packed so that when it patches several GB's worth of data is updated or rather as it's Steam it's replaced, unfortunate but unavoidable.

I assume they're giving everyone time to update.
(Global Agenda is a good example of this, The Ball is also to use but two UE3 examples.)

EDIT: Rewriting the engine so that a patch.upk file could be used as a universal update container would solve all that though, from how I see it.
(I have no idea if it's even possible or how the inner workings of the engine is, only that's it's very easy to work with, it can even bake. )

Impressive then, that's some dedication but Tripwire proved that back with Killing Floor.
(And maybe earlier.)

It's not a problem or anything but I was merely pointing it out, it is good to see such commitment. Smile
