1) Extract and run setup.exe
use default install destination folder!
2) open hosts located in \Windows\System32\drivers\etc
3) add the folowwing lines
127.0.0.1 mp02.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 mp01.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 mp03.maniaplanet.com
127.0.0.1 game.maniaplanet.com
4) Extract profile.rar to \My Documents
5) Launch ManiaPlanetLauncher.exe, set your language and config the Game
6) Start the Game and use offline mode!
N O T E S
The only thing working atm is the Editor. You can can download maps here
http:// *** link removed - put them into \My Documents\ManiaPlanet\Maps\My Maps
Load the Maps and play. You remember from Trackmania 1 - you can testrace your Maps.

Ok, one question. What are those planets used for? Except that lottery shit..
There are two other games in development: Questmania (a RPG) and Shootmania (a FPS). Supposedly every piece in the editor is usable in all three games. We'll see.
They're probably going to milk you guys with the DLC. I think this is the most blatantly obvious release of a gmae with half the features of the previous iteration missing. They'll add those through DLC. Rather ridiculous if you ask me. :/

People come up to us and are like ‘Make Trackmania 2: Canyon’s free to play’ and we’re like ‘No – Trackmania Nations. That’s completely free-to-play. You don’t have to pay at any time. And we’re still looking at 700,000 different people playing the game each month.
“We prefer to call Trackmania 2: Canyons “Free to Stay”. You pay at the entrance and then you stay for as many years as you want. Unlimited content you can download for free from anywhere. You only have the in-game currency that you exchange with your friends through the in-game economy.
From the description of the game's economy, and calling it "free to stay", it doesn't look like you are supposed to buy anything from them, other than the game itself of course.
It's an amiable stance to make in today's DLC whoring climate, and it's cheaper than most games you find on sale. I'd buy it if I didn't have a massive backlog already (plus I'm more of a "ram the other players to the wall" type of player than someone who wins by pure skill ).
Agree that the Canyon Theme is a bit dull and am disappointed they removed the "Nations" feel by not appearing to have national liveries but it still manages to provide the sort of OCD goodness of previous versions.
Get on board and give, in my humble opinion, a worthy Dev some hard earned.
I can get into the main menu but can't choose any of the options except for quit and change profile. Which is somewhat logical since only a single user can use a single profile.
Well, with the old P2P version with the pre-activated account in it only two options were accessible in the menu, even though there was not a small number of people saying they could play it just fine.
