some of you should think a bit longer.
why are they best sold, because they are the best game. So thats why they get SF3 in the first place. Combine that with the fact that it took a while to crack them -> high sellings.

Things dont get stipped in GC games, its just some garbage data, that is used to make the laser read better somehow, that is removed cause it aint needed for the game, and that is just in a few releases most contain the garbage to avoid you having read errors, of course with decent media having or not garbage data matters not much !!

the version doesnt say much about the sf3
protect.dll is the important thing .. the bigger the vm protected opcodes.
the less (like in postal 2) the less vm protected opcodes.
1mb of size above 5mb devided by 2 is most like the pcode count in sf3.

if im to spend money on any software, i want to know exactly what i get in return
crappy demos dont cut it, wack install systems dont cut it, etc
dl, test the full game, if its worthy of the money, purchase
same with music.. back in the day i went and bought cd's blindly depending on the name and the cover etc, which turned out to be a loss of money most of the time, those days are over, people adjust and get spoiled, but demand more. |
ABSOLUTELY dead F%#kin on the mark.......
how many systemdumps....dll conflicts must we PAY for????
if it works properly...I buy it

Do you think that consoles sell based on your personal taste in games or something? Bit of advice, learn to distinguish between your own opinions and fact..
Many things sell consoles just like many things sell games (not always quality). Being able to get any game you want for free is certainly a very attractive reason to buy a certain console.

Quote: | BTW Those wittering on about how popular piracy has made games consoles.. these consoles are sold at a loss with the hope of making the money back on games licensing and sales. Those who download console games are costing the manufacturers money, they lose money on selling you the machine then don't get it back as you don't buy any games.
Trust me I don't really think MS give a shit about the sales of the X-Box, they care more about how much money it has cost them. Sales are a marketing number, without the dollars that come from it shareholders won't give a shit. |
For Microsoft making money is secondary in this market at the moment. They've already lost $4 billion dollars trying to force their way in with XBox and they will continue with that strategy with XBox 360. They have one goal, to sell as many consoles as possible at any cost, more then Sony, so they can be seen as the market leader. As you say consoles sold is a marketing number, a very powerful marketing number though. After all why is it that people think that Sony and Microsoft are doing great compared to Nintendo when Nintendo are making far more profit then Sony or MS? Because success in this market is percieved by the public at large as the company who sells the most consoles. Once your the lone market leader your in a very comfortable position to recoup all your losses and more, and that's what Microsoft wants more then anything else.
