Lol wait so that MMORPG that was announced years back, THATS the one thats finally coming out this year? I thought this was a sequel or something to the first Old Republic MMORPG but apparently this is the first one?

Finished both KOTOR games multiple times one of the best rpg games and games overall of all time for me...
Thats why they can take this shitty overpriced star wars profanity and stick up their arses, I hope it will be giant fail or some nutjob goes suicidal on their servers to bury this junk and force them to make a proper KOTOR 3

First of all I always try new MMO games that come out. I try to play through all group content and then I usually unsubscribe.
Secondly, I am looking for a MMORPG that is fun to play with friend from the beginning to the end. This is main reason why I'm looking forward to Guild Wars 2. In GW2 you have a personal story, which is like instanced mission kind of like in the first game and while traveling while doing your personal story you get to participate (if you want to) in public dynamic events, which is something like public quests in Warhammer Online or Rift but more dynamic. You can do all this content with your friends without worrying if he's at the same stage of quest unlike in standard quest-driven MMORPGs where if you are at different stage of quest all you can do is help your friend to kill 10 pirates so he progresses to the same stage of the quest as you are.
If SW:TOR manages to tackle this more "social" (god, I hate that word in today bookface world) type of play, to help you play with your friends instead of prevent it, then yes I am interested in this game.

I played in the weekend beta at the start of the month, and I just recently beat both of the KotOR games again (which was probably my 6th or 7th playthrough of both games), and let me tell you that SWTOR DOES stay true to the KotOR lore and also feels like a KotOR game as well.
But then again, I can see why some people wouldn't want to pay $15 a month to get more KotOR.

just to make one thing clear, this isnt "kotor gone mmo". SWToR is set in the same time as kotor was (some years earlier i think during the sith wars) , but thats it. Its like saying WoW is is warcraft 4 ^^.

Let me fix it:
If WOW raped KOTOR in the ass, and somehow they still had a baby, then that would be SWTOR. The gameplay is an exact 100/100 copy.

something funny, I got an email saying they hope I enjoyed the beta and were looking for me to take a survey based on my playthrough... Umm I never got an invite to play...? Anyone else get that?

Did you receive two emails from the Star Wars: The Old Republic community over the past 12 hours implying that you had made the SW:ToR beta? I did! They got me good too. I was planning to login over there today to see if I had a beta account. Alas, no point in that as EA and BioWare apologized for the emails, which were sent out to a larger group than intended.
One of the two emails was titled "Comparing testing experiences", and read as follows:
We hope you are enjoying participating in the Game Testing Program and want to thank you for helping shape the most anticipated MMO to date.
We've posted a fun short survey for game testers, and the results have been really interesting so far. Answer a few questions and see what your fellow testers are thinking. After the survey, hit the forums to talk about your experience or get gameplay tips.

I finally get a beta invite to play the game for....... *gasp* THREE WHOLE DAYS!!! Oh and I only need to download THIRTY GIGABYTES OF DATA !!!
Seriously... 30 GB for a 3 day trial. What were they thinking....
1 and 2 are still amazing.
