http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-09-25-fifa-12-review 9/10 Pretty promising score from very critic Eurogamer. (eg. Dead Island got 6/10)

Okay this is bullshit, im canceling my pre-order for FIFA 12 PC cuz FIFA 12 isn't fifa anymore. They should've left the defending alone, EA messed it up bigtime. Online it SUCKS BIGTIME because of this new defending. In seasons online you can't change to old defending mode. So this year, I'm skipping FIFA, since Fifa 99. EA did a huge mistake. FIFA 12 is going to FAIL this year.
Online I mean X360 version. In case someone wonders how I play online.

It is optional but not in every game mode for obvious reasons (MP).

should be optional in H2H if both people are using the same mode what's the problem :/
It's good they tried to distance the game from pressure abuse but they've gone too far
in the other direction now it's just frustrating, hard to stop any adept skill move player and games
end up with silly scores because of it.

Personally I find the new defense system incredibly rewarding once you manage to tame it; actually it forces the player to think and choose the optimal timing instead of keeping the A button pressed for the 90% of the match

yeah on paper.. add in online delay dependant on who you're playing and ref giving pens for 'clean' tackles, sure it's great.

not a game problem.. instead of playing geek online mode, gather some skilled friends, put them together and play tournaments and smoke weed all night long!

Do you play football? I play as a defender (amateur, natch) and what I do is close down my opponent and wait for the exact moment to nick the ball away. This is what FIFA 12 does, you close down (jockey) with the A button and then nick the ball with the B button.
The new system is sure to take some time to get used to, but it is closer to the real deal.

Look, there is nothing wrong with it in theory and when you play against AI. Shit starts to happen when you play against friend or online. Its like playing amateur league defenders vs Spain 2010 with Messi and Ronaldo added to them.

The whole defending/tackling experience is frustrating, once the opponent is in the clear I just give up cause even a sliding tackle is fucking useless. Hate how defending is all about timing now.
