Thing is, I don't really have time to watch crappy movies these days - with some exceptions

If you're feeling pretentious use the Top Critics tab

Same thing. A lot of top critics are also snobs who rate the island high and inception as pretentious art piece.
If you want to know if a movie is good check out the director, check his previous work, check out the writer and check the cast. I'm expecting drive to be a gory, intense, awesome, stylish flick. Don't need reviews to tell me otherwise.

yeah, but you can't give credit to a site and discredit another. I honestly prefer IMDB ratings for certain movies / shows. RT used to be good, until blogging became journalism. It's also lol, at first you see a movie with 98% and then a week or so later it drops to 67%

Haven't seen Pusher but Valhalla Rising was artsy and alright and so was Bronson.

Yeah, even imdb is more credible. At least normal people are in majority, not fag ass bloggers.
Who reads movie blogs anyway...
Dayum, I haven't seen a single movie made by the director of Drive. |
Well the Pusher trilogy(the strongest being the first and second) are definitely his best movies but they are in Danish so that might be a big block for some.

god damn it
*spoiler related*
checked imdb board to look up what people are saying about this and there's always a discussion if driver is autistic, mentally handicapped in some way or some shit like that...
he doesn't look retarded, and imo doesn't act like it, maybe he suffered of some fucked up psychological trauma, but nothing more than that
*end spoiler*
If anyone is interested in seeing this, avoid anything related since it'll make the whole experience more awesome.

music isn't sounding too good in that screener, it doesn't sound good at all
it's really distorted .. and it sounds like it's a different score..

Saw this at the theater last night. Movie was kind of strange... not really my type of flick but the music was AWESOME. Anyways, the price of admission was worth it just for introducing me to "Kavinsky - Nightcall".

damn, the audio is really shitty in that screener as i said and there's at least some dialogue missing
Spoiler: | right after killing Nino, Driver is talking to Bernie and i remember that the first thing he said to Bernie was "Have you ever heard of the story of the scorpion and the frog?.."
This wasn't present in the release. |

Spoiler: | He said something like: " The frog didn't make it across the river" |

yup, but it isn't present at all in the screener and Cliff Martinez's score is really fucked up, it's like certain channels are on.
There was a cool sound effect i noticed during my second trip to the cinema. Right after the elevator scene when Driver is on his way to meet Shannon, in the very first shot, his car's engine is overloud making it sound like roaring thunder (coupled with the elevator scene, it makes sense). This like most sound in the screener is distorted as fuck.

Actually, I think, he's just a good guy who knows how the world really is. He's just merciless when it comes down to business (like stomping someone's face into a pile of blood and meat) but goodhearted to people he cares for (loves) at the same time. Seems nothing wrong about him imho. He's just balls to the wall in everything he does.
I really liked the movie and especially the somewhat eery score.

The "screener" is an unfinished version of the film - ie, temp score (Brian Eno, some Social Network etc), not Cliff Martinez's score. Also it is not correctly color graded, and is missing some CG effects such as blood spatter in one scene. There are reports that it is also a toned down version with less violence than the official release.
In other words it's a piece of shit.

Ya I thought the score to Drive was AWESOME. Seriously, if the music isn't intact in the screener, don't even bother.

i 2nd that
hmm, i thought that the movie was too bright but passed it off.. looks like i was right
and yes, visual effects aren't done, her skull doesn't explode from the shotgun blast
so, don't bother, the finished theatrical version is better
