Well I will play this one as soon as I finish 'Eternal Sonata', I am close to the end.
And talk about annoying characters  I skipped half the cutscenes.

is Star Ocean 4 worth playing hmmm
no... if you play rpgs for visuals, voice acting and story drama
yes... if your bored or dig JSci-fi with they big eyezorz

You fail, who ever plays jrpgs for voice acting? Everyone knows they are sucky most of the time with like 1 or 2 exceptions made ever. SO4 looks good and is just tons of fun to play, so troll away.

I love star ocean 1,2 and 3 but 4 was just weird man.
the combat was cool and all but the story was stupid and the characters were just plain bad in my opinion.
and yeah you mentioned drop rates.. the crafting sucks balls! you never get enough materials to do ANYTHING unless you grind for hours or keep farming harvest points. then you have that 20 item limit so you can't even farm properly!
lost odyssey is soo much better...I have fond memories of that game.. but when I think back on star ocean 4 I just remember my disappointment.
