so how excellent was the last episode? i must say.. quite excellent Very Happy

favorite line of the ep that at the same time that sump up the show's concept of time: Time is always a bit wibbly-wobbly,
but in Twostreams it's extra wubbly

"Planet of the Dead", "The Waters of Mars" and "The End of Time" were the first Doctor Who episodes to be filmed and broadcast in high-definition. They were released in Blu-ray editions on the same day as their corresponding DVDs in Region 2. A Blu-ray box set containing all of the 2009–10 specials (including an upscaled version of "The Next Doctor", which was shot in standard-definition) was released for Region 2 on 11 January 2010. The subsequent episodes have also been filmed and broadcast in high-definition, and starting with the first 11th Doctor stories, released simultaneously on Blu-ray.

upscaled of series 1 is the best your ever going to get if they ever rerelease it

it's obvious who the new companion will be. i'm not happy about that. the character was just pointless. and we can't really get a new doctor since he's the last one. unless they changed time and river gave him her regenerations. Which would make sense to continue the series after matt smith, unless they decide to end it which would really suck. Sad

He's signed on for at least one more year, then they'll replace him. And with a new doctor, a new time line \o/ though we need more fantastic writers on this earth to continue the adventures. Can't have sloppy episodes Sad and matt need more epic moments which seem to be lacking in recent episodes. Though, in all honesty, they do feel more like baker doctorWho than the nuDoctorWho. Which is cool and all, but I guess I was spoiled when nuDoctor came. It was just epic after epic after epic after what the fuck epic after oooh epic... Sad i've been derped.

Uh, no? The Doctor hasn't run out of regenerations because, quite simply, he has unlimited. Time Lords used to have 13 (this is only the Eleventh incarnation, don't forget) but that wasn't biological, that was lawful - it was a restriction imposed by the Time Lords themselves. The Time Lords themselves were fully capable of "resetting" their regenerations once they hit 13, if the situation allowed for it. The Master has already exceeded his 13 regenerations.

Now that the Time Lords are all (...apparently) gone, it falls to the Doctor himself to decide when it's his time to leave. Hell, even the Doctor said - in the Sarah Jane Adventures double episode "Death of the Doctor" - that he has "unlimited" regenerations. Look at this way; he is, for all intents and purposes, the last of his species -- it's only natural that he would no longer impose the 13 regeneration limit on himself, as Time Lords of old did, so as to prolong his species. These last few episodes have been bugging me though;

... as for Who I prefer (Very Happy); David Tenant, followed by Christopher Ecclestone and Jon Pertwee. Of the OldWho, I was always partial to Pertwee.. he bought class, style and brains to the Whoniverse - and the the NuDoctor? I loved the passion and anger of Ecclestone, but the multiple seasons with Tenant clinched the deal. I was gutted when he left and I get the strong feeling that Tenant himself didn't quite feel ready to go either, his last few performances were phenomenal.

By the end of the first season when I realized they were gonna change the actor I was disappointed but then of course David Tennant turned out to be awesome and I quite forgot all about Eccleston. By the time Matt Smith's turn came around I expected the same but I end up still wishing David Tennant was there instead. Matt Smith is ok but he just doesn't seem quite right for it to me. I just hope when it's his time to leave (which is inevitable really) they find someone...better.

this season is shit for me though they might aswell be aimed at kids like the sarah jamne adventures were....

ecclestone seemed alot darker and more for adults but kids would still enjoy it.. tennant was a bit of both now its just bullshit and almost entirely a childrens program

The first four or five episodes of S1 were average, but once "Dalek" came about everything changed and the episodes were great after that - so if you thought the whole season was "average at best" then probably not worth watching, though I really think you should anyway Smile
