Wow, Ben Kuchera (from the Ars Technica review) really killed it. Problem is, all his points seem quite valid. Don't read the quoted bullet points from consolitis, read the full review for yourselves.

This shit is awful. The textures in the distance don't even load, and I'm getting some weird-ass flickering problem.

I'm laughing at the people who have bailed on the game after ONE PERSON says "Skip it. . ." Jesus are people that fucking hive minded? This game looks fun as hell. The ONLY games I care about story are RPGs and games specifically built around established characters (Arkham City, GOW, etc.)
And I lol'd at the save system gripes. Oh no - you have to actually go in and manually save your game. What asshole is letting the system control their saves anyway. Here I was expecting there to be NO manual save, and the save system completely broken. No its just the system that no one in 2011 should be relying on that is broken.

BTW I'm already using the "RAGE Performance" drivers from AMD and they don't fix shit. The fucked up artifacting/flickering and texture streaming problems are there. And the framerate is obviously fucked up. |
