So you pulled out the main power cable from the drive itself? Can you tell me exactly how you did it, from scratch?

When i come back this evening i'll tell you, but it's written here also on the last couple of pages, just unplug the main power cable and inmediately after hitting the erase liteon button ( in my case ) in jungleflasher plug it back in and you're done and the drive will be in vendor mode. it might cost you a couple of tries but then it goes in vendor mode eventually. ( i had done it before but together with a friend of mine and he had a special device for cutting the power off and on but i saw he didn't manage on first try that time. )

Questions. I will flash my drive to LT 2.0 today. I will have someone else to do it for me. I have also read up on the Xk3y and considering ordering one. Will I still have to update my firmware in the future - ie opening up my box every time there's a new FW? I guess I still have to do that? If not I am really considering the Xk3y both for the ability to store games on HD and the convenience of not having to flash drive all the time.

I'm now 99% sure the layer breaks are wrong in the dvd files. I burnt two copies of Driver last night, one with the default from the .dvd file and allowed Imgburn to deal with it (so it takes the value) and the second I set manually to 2086912.
The first burn will not install. Seems to play off disc fine but maybe I've not got far enough to hit a problem. The second disc installed just fine.

I also think the same. On some DVD rw's imgburn atomatically sets the layerbreak to 2086912 so the burns are good. But on other writers it stay as it's in the .dvd file and the result is wrong layerbreak and erros on the 360. In the end setting the LB to 2086912 fixes the issue for many people and the result is the same as imgburn autosetting it so it should be the default LB anyway. It's even writenin GOW3 nfo:
Quote: | In the case of growisofs as instructed below, in order to avoid
errors when burning XGD3 to regular DVD+R DL, you may choose to first
truncate the ISO to 8,547,991,552 bytes, and burn using a reduced
associated layerbreak of 2086912. This should give you exactly the
same end result as if you followed the instructions below for ImgBurn
on Windows. |

So is there a tutorial just for getting the key and updating LT+ on a LiteOn drive - without ck3 or any tools? The JF tutorial seems all over the place and the internet only shows me tutorial that require ck3. :/

The JF tutorial is the best tutorial. Its not all over the place, you just have to follow the links, instead of scroling from page 1 and down.
depending on your dashboard, it may be impossible to get the key without using a probe. If you got MS's firmware upgrade some months ago, you need a probe. Again read JF tutorial for help, or you can go to JF's channel on EFnet, people are mostly helpfull

I'm on LT+ 1.1 and the last dash update I did was the on that came with Bulletstorm.
I did follow the links but I don't see an option on getting the key and updating fw. The closest options I found assumes that I have the key or I'm starting from scratch, and here it assumes I have the ck3.
