I am using MSI 5870, and whenever I use Rageconfig.cfg in base folder, whatever combination, game crashes after intro. As soon as I remove rageconfig.cfg, there is no crashes.
What do you suggest I should do ??

yeah I am done fucking with it, thanks for trying to help... Strange it runs on 11.6 and not 11.9 either with or without the hotfix... We'll see what happens in a few days time. At least I am confident it's a driver issue and not my setup/
On a side not my cpu usage is under 40 % with 11.6 driver, and with the new driver it is pegged at 4 cores 100%... Wtf is that about, lol

Yup did that too... It's of no use with this newest set of driver as I mentioned my CPU is pegged at 100%, so the gmae hardly moves as you'd imagine. 11.6 cpu under 40% 11.9 cpu pegged at 100%, 100% of the time, lol. well @ least we can say we tried everything now

Btw, you know that you could had done it easier
Windows Button + R then fill in "%userprofile%\AppData\Local" press enter, and your there
Or
Windows Button + E and fill "%userprofile%\AppData\Local" in navigation bar in and press enter.
Why go in command prompt for that -.-'

edit : nm, for some unknown reason r:interval -1 changed to -2 ingame (i guess -2 is really hardcore vsync lol)

I got bored after defeating that big monster in rage so I started playing dead island again. Oh man ..., what a difference compared to the textures. Rage looks like shit and i think its way too overhyped.

Update from Bethesda:
Quote: | Almost all the issues with RAGE are hardware/driver related and not an issue with the game itself.
Please note the following from Bethesda:
ATI and NVIDIA are working on updated drivers that should be released today/tomorrow that will fix multiple issues.
Bethesda is working on an update to allow for users to customize their video options which will solve many of the issues users are having.
For the latest information please visit http://www.bethblog.com
Thank you for your patience with this matter. All parties are working as fast as they can to correct the problems with RAGE. |
No wonder a good deal of them are not the fault of the game but driver issues as I always believed (think how often OpenGL games are released => that NOT often the companies optimize their drivers for OpenGL speed and functionality) and no wonder it's the Red team that suffers the most - they traditionally didn't play well with OpenGL - eg from the Virtualdub creator: http://www.virtualdub.org/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=180
Quote: | Another annoying aspect of OpenGL is that NVIDIA's practically the only one really supporting it on the desktop side. They're pushing out all the cool functionality via extensions and have their OpenGL docs about as well updated as the Direct3D ones. ATI, well... not that they have many useful docs on their site anyway, but their OpenGL docs are way behind and their extension support in their OpenGL driver was way behind the last time I checked. They've put more effort into Direct3D support, even "extending" D3D9 with API hacks to support Fetch4 and R2VB. Disclaimer: I am an NVIDIA fanboy. I still want ATI to better support OpenGL so that it continues to be a viable competitor to Direct3D 9/10 on Windows. |

The file looks empty if you inspect it, so uh nothing?
I think it's one of the many things people tweak etc that isn't used by the game.
