Hy,
I'm gonna tell you what happened with my computer...
I was playing deus ex human revolution and from time to time I got a BSOD. Sinc it was really sometimes and not allot I didn't bother to check wich error came back.
I then started playing some other games without problems, but then I bought Rage. I installed it and it didn't work. I installed the latest catalyst drivers (11.9) and tryed the game. Game started up but crashed again later on, but thats not the issue.
I went on to play a game that was already installed, and been playing it the days before without problem. When suddenly I get a BSOD... I get one everytime I restarted the game.
So I figured the catalyst driver was false, so uninstalled, installed the previous one...
Computer didn't booted up, again BSOD. Safe mode worked. The I started reverting back to an older image (I take acronis back ups) Same problem, either a BSOD on boot, right before the welcome screen, or a BSOD in windows when I try to open firefox(!!!!) Explorer does work however...
So I formatted the entire drive, fresh win7 install, installed the 11.8 drivers (wich I knew worked) and yet...the same BSOD on start up or when starting firefox...
I am at a loss here.
It's always atikmpag.sys, but the dump says its dxgkrnl.sys
I already cleaned out every dust particle from the comp. I took out some Ram modules.
My specs are:
Samsung 500Gb 7200rpm SATA II 16Mb (502LJ)
Corsair 4096MB DDR2 800Mhz XMS6400 (2x 2Gb)
ASUS P5Q-E,s775 ATX,P45,DDR2,PCI-E
Intel Quad Core Q9550 (2.83GHz,1333MHz,12MB,BOXED)
SAMSUNG 22x DVD-Rewriter (S223F) zwart SATA
ASUS EAH4870 X2/HTDI/2Gb DDR3,2xDVI,HDMI,PCI-E
No overclocking, I checked my RAM, My temperatures, nothing...

1. ATI/Rage doesn't support crossfire yet. Disable one GPU.
2. Use the latest Catalyst 11.10 Beta/Preview 2 driver
3. Get the Update 1 for Rage (probably auto-updated since you bought it).
4. Take apart your 4870X2, replace TIM with IC Diamond or similar, make sure the fans and fins are perfectly cool and that you have airflow inside the comp, the 4870X2 is very heat-sensitive. Make sure you check temps for the 4870X2 under load.
5. Try a different card.
6. Reinstall OS, may exist some fudged up old files somewhere in the system that mess things up.
7. Your X2 is borked. Maybe one of the two cores are borked. In any case, disable one GPU and try that way.
8. Get MSI Afterburner, follow the instructions on Guru3d.com (there's a thread specifically for Afterburner) and bump voltages a notch or two and see if it becomes stable.
9. Try a different card in your PC (borrow from a friend or family member if possible).
I guess warranty period is gone as well so you can't RMA it?

I did not install diretx...
I got a BSOD while installing the drivers after that clan OS install. So I dodn't bothered with it since my comp didn't even booted to windows.
I now have an older image from a few days back installed and no ati drivers... PC works fine, except for the resolutions and games of course, seeing as I have no drivers.
I'm not sure how I could disable a gpu Core rom this card though...

That's not videocard related in itself, dxgkrnl.sys sits at a much lower level. That's either corrupt RAM or a broken CPU most likely; don't think it's the motherboard.
Run memtest to rule RAM out (bootable USB stick is enough). Try running LinX or something to put some pressure on the CPU, but if it's the CPU you won't be able to reproduce it that easily as it may just be a single specific set of instructions.
