i think that it wont work. firstly, I dont see how that gives you a key to decrypt the files. secondly, there would be screens & videos all over the internetz already.

Someone with a valid cd key from retail or otherwise could try it against the russian clonedvd (you can just decompress the zips)

Mine looks like that too. I'm sure that will change in the days approaching release, maybe friday when preloads begin.

I don't think anyone wants to risk a valid key on something like this. It might work, but EA might screw you over, and take the key.

i have battlefield 2142 on origin and there i can see a valid key (which i used to install the game without origin lol, those who followed my origin/ea customer support rant know what im talking about)

Guys. I'm in the UK and I'm after a North American VPN to I can preload this on the 21st and play it on the 25th. Now I know the ping maybe up there but I can crack on with the single player whilst waiting for the UK release date. So my question is, does anyone know of a VPN service I can use that is either free or cost next to nothing ? TIA Smile

if vpn works on origin to unlock stuff early (not sure if it does) then you can use this.

I read (but I'll be damned if I can find it now) that someone from DICE said that it would work using a VPN from Europe. That's what got me thinking about doing it you see. I have found https://www.overplay.net/ but it's expensive...

I once tried a different us vpn provided temporarily by some friend and it worked wih Origin. If you can take the time to try with that one you mentioned would be nice and let us know how it goes Smile

I've emailed another company and they seem to think there will not be a problem but are going to double check. If I find anything out or if indeed I do get a service to work, I'll put it up in here Smile

hotspot shield worked fine for activation of the beta from germany (without the facebook key hassle). so maybe no problem to activiate an us key from the retail early

you mean you tried it but using the given fake / used cd-key. That doesn't prove anything unfortunately as the most important stage hasn't been reached...

Origin got a good update that allows you check and repair the game files instead of redownloadng just like steam , also they introduced the save game cloud

I took the time to try the vpn services mentioned a few posts above this and my results are:

- Hotspot Shield works fine with Origin. I was able to connect and login and it detected me as an US customer, showing me the US store and prices in US $. I assume it would at least work to bypass release date cheks, decrypt files, etc. We'll have to wait till the 25th to find out.

- YourFreedom doesn't work with Origin. When you launch the Origin client it shows you a message warning that there is no internet connection and that it will operate in "offline" mode. No matter how many times I retried it will always show as offline.
