well the fucked up part about it is a game being in development for over 2 yrs, then when it is entering the homestretch of the dev cycle(within 6 mos. of release hopefully), suddenly the devs decide to dash ppl's hopes of features promised from the beginning. Also I am tired of this "maybe it will come in an add-on" BS. because that is all it is. They are trying to save face in the public eye, but all it does is drag on hope a little bit longer while they all realize there is no possibility of the company spending precious $$$ on them developing a free feature post-release. If this was not a line of BS, then we would have a Mafia Co-op, Oni Co-op, Halo for PC Co-op, Far Cry Co-op and many others. The only game i can remember that ever delivered was System Shock 2 which was buggy as hell, something like a year after release, and not worth the effort. Dev's/PR people should be held to their promises and not prolong the feeling of being "let down" by making these statements they never plan to make good on.

no way, Halo was hyped for years and it was almost perfect.
And I'm pretty damn sure Doom 3 is gonna rock. On the Xbox too thanks to the Coop. (I love coop mode!!!) |
Maybe that's true for kids then, because Halo was an utter kiddie-game.

Halo was far from perfect, but it did rock the house.
We've already been through the Halo argument 100 times on these boards though, so please drop it. :\

Halo was rather good when it was first released, and as an Xbox game.
But it was still FAR from perfect.

DVD ROM edition is good, I will like this game because I know the developers don't PLAN to drop coop and vehicles in MP, its only a thing they must do to get it out the door.
If it runs good and plays good and doesn't suffer the massive bugs that soldner has (i know there different games) then it wil be awesome.
The mod community if not PATCHES will bring the bonus coop and vehicles in mp later without a doubt.
I will for sure buy this game, if it has the quality it has been hyping about all this time.
fenris.. Well guess that just shows that stalker is very close to finish unless thats just publishing demos (no software just boxwork & cdstamp demoing)

i think they didnt want to miss another deadline so they drop a couple of stuff so they could work on it and call it a "patch" instead of pushing the date further in the calendar

I didn't even knew it was suposed to have coop, but this would have been the feature making a great difference. We don't need another deathmatch game at all, give us some coop. Don't developpers listen to the end users dammit? For years I read comments about gamers who want more damn coop modes in their games, the success from Halo and 50% of the fun with it was because of the coop mode. I remember my friends telling how cool it was too shoot and drive with a buddy etc... This is a very stupid move from them to remove this option IMO.
I also don't, thave much expectations from this game, someone talked about Operation Outbreak, well, it look and feel very similar in many regards. Especially the feeling of emtyness, this could be a pretty game with lame AI and boring levels once you killed everyone just like Operation Outbreak was. And then again, the only good thing about Operation Otbreak was the coop mode!
