Hell on Wheels is an upcoming American dramatic television series created and produced by Joe and Tony Gayton. Set in 1865, the series stars Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife.
The series will be broadcast in the United States on the cable channel AMC. It is developed by Endemol USA, under the stewardship of senior vice-president of scripted programming Jeremy Gold, and is produced by Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures. It is due to premiere on November 6, 2011.

Series overview
Set in the 1860s at the beginning of Reconstruction, the series follows Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier, who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest for vengeance sends him westward to Nebraska's "Hell on Wheels," the lawless town that moves with the construction of the transcontinental railroad. However, things get complicated when a Cheyenne tribe attacks the construction of the railroad, determined to destroy the project because it is being built through their lands.
Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is the central character of the series.

Philip Burke as Mickey McGinnes, Sean's brother, who, like his brother, is looking to make money in the west.
Eddie Spears as Joseph Black Moon, a Native American who must choose between the new world and the traditions of his ancestors.

you'd be correct if it were curtis 50 cent jackson, or some other stereotypical black rapper. but this is common. totally different...

i was psyched when i read mos def on dexter... but this show look bad it's like they're trying to be HBO quality... but they can't handle their own crew. HBO picked from the top. They knew what they were doing. AMC got lucky a few times and now they're trying to be the top dogs, but they're failing.

I was semi-joking about that part, heh. He was also good in American Gangster. But come on, black touch guy in the 1860s?
Mos def, for example, is a good rapper? turned actor, and he is good on Dexter.
Why wouldn't there be tough black guys in the 1860s?
There certainly were tough black women if you watch those old b/w true to live movies with cary grant and some movies based on long ass books.
Just finished watching it , nice start..I liked it..some wierd music choices and moments but overall it was fun for me. Im definitely interested for more and I think it's worth checking it out if you are a fan of the genre.
