for those, who are interested, the campaigns can be played on a logical timeline and storyline. the correct order would be the following:
- Heart of Nightmares (Collectors' edition map)
- Prologue 1
- Prologue 2
- Stronghold 1
- Sanctuary 1
- Inferno 1
- Haven 1
- Necropolis 1
- Stronghold 2
- Sanctuary 2
- Haven 2
- Necropolis 2
- Sanctuary 3
- Stronghold 3
- Inferno 2
- Necropolis 3
- Inferno 3
- Sanctuary 4
- Stronghold 4
- Haven 3
- Necropolis 4
- Haven 4
- Inferno 4
- Epilogues
i've obtained the data from a thread in the homm official forum.

So how do I solve that Kilburn's list on the first necro campaign? And how to defeat that inquisitor? I have like small numbers of units, and he has insanely high number of all upgraded units? :\

I dk, but this game is weird :\
First when I captured some city and converted it, I had like -17000 creatures and couldn't buy single unit :\
And then all the AI creatures became incredibly strong (in numbers)... This totally sucks.
I don't think I'll end this game :\
Such a disappointment

Question: Does using skidrow's 1.1.1 update requires first installing 1.1?

I've had no issues with it.
(Done the first mission in each campaign and have completed prologue and necromancer campaigns, this game will take quite a while to finish.)

Do you guys think someone will crack the Dynasty stuff for offline mode as well? I might actually consider shelling out 20$ on this, since my friends and I are probably gonna play a lot of this.
As for the actual game, yes, its full of bugs but nothing too bad or unfixable with a reload of an autosave. You do NOT have to rush through the maps. I cleaned every single campaign map I have played so far (Tutorial, Necro and Haven completed) and had little problems on Medium difficulty. Yes, by the end, the enemy has stacks of 1000+ units, but so do you. The trick is to preserve your units and not let them die like ever. You should be able to complete each and every fight at least through the first half of each campaign map with ZERO losses.

It all depending how this dynasty stuff is done. If it is actually some sort of online profile, with leveling and all other mechanics done locally, and just stored online, then it shouldn't be impossible. If on the other hand, all is done online, it will be tougher, or maybe even impossible to replicate it correctly. I say replicate, because without actual coding on client side, you can't reproduce it 100% correctly offline.

aye! i had to start all over agian the stronghold campaign as i realised that the enemy heroes had tons of full upgraded units, that i was able to defeat, but after continous hero's respawns, with equal if not, higher amounts of units as before (and also augmented hero's level), they started to kick my ass badlly.
therefore, the solution, at least for this map, is to rush it.
besides, my hero's limited to level 11, it's capped, therefore it doesn't worth to explore, kill, conquer every neutral building or units.
just stick to the map goals.
its a petty you can't do what you want...
i have my aprehensions in the heroes leveling up too... i fear some abilities are not worth in future missions...
conclusion: the AI cheats badly.

After Kings Bounty I find it kinda tiresome to play HoMM. Dealing with the bitchass AI, and the fact that you have to rush through the missions lest the computer create an UberArmy that will steal your resources and castles.

Does anyone know how to install the god damned patches? I've tried, repeatedly, but trying to install 1.1 (the 500MB+ patch) just whines about "can't apply patch because Might & Magic Heroes VI is not installed yet" (WTF?)
~edit~
Nevermind, damned Ubisoft and their localisations. My Ruskie key wouldn't work on the Skidrow ISO, as the ISO isn't Russian. Get this; A ruskie key will ONLY work on a Ruskie install -- but you can make it run in English via a registry tweak. You also need the localised patches, so I had to run GU.exe to get the Russian DIGITAL version instead. Works fine now, including the key from IntKeys......... which makes me feel terribly guilty since they already refunded me after Ubishit refused to help. I actually found out about the Ruskie data files from a forum post

I stopped playing like 2 weeks ago. Dunno if it's a bug, but the enemy is ridiculously stronger and I cannot build any armies so...

I had a couple of good runs with this game but it seems that in scenario mode you have to move a certain order around the map and if you dont "rush" on it gets impossible to beat.
Also the bug/trigger that allows me to recruit -36K troops was kinda game braking
Edit: Dingo you have this on necromancer campaign? I played the last campaign (before questionmark) and completed 4 missions there.
Empty again

Jup, on the first campaign, everything was fine, and then after I conquered one town, I got -18k units that I 'can' recruit
Maybe this is the new DRM xD

Hmm i only encountered this in the necro campaign. The campaign before the questionmark (can't recall the name) seemed to be working fine since i played that before the necro.

The tutorial ones were fine, but at my first campaign this happened...

The huge ''minus'' unit recruitment count is a known bug (even in retail.. see the game's forums). It occurs in a few campaign lines (especially the tutorial) and happens after the ''week of plague'' comes up.
It has not been fixed with a patch yet. There is a simple.. if not a PITA workaround. One has to keep an eye on every new week as it comes up. If the ''Week of Plague'' does come up.. you simply exit out of the game and reload the day's auto-save before it. The game will then play normally.
It works.. I tried it during the tutorial. I also got a week of plague in the Sanctuary 1 campaign but it didn't affect my recruitment there, as it only happens in some campaigns. The bad part is if you don't notice the week coming up and advance into it two days.. you have no more auto-save to use.
