Expect a beta on 20th of December, with more people in it than the SWTOR launch.

It's quite shame that people don't know their lore but hey, who plays games for the story in 2011?
Pretty sure, patch 4.3 is being a counterattack to SWOTR and Diablo 3 probably will be out in middle of January.

As long as people are addicted to the junk known as WoW, they'll lap up even the funniest nonsense like Pandas and monkeys etc.
WoW is a soul-less game, existing purely on the carrot-mechanism that keeps people psychologically addicted.. "I MUST have that purple shoulder, and then I have to do 15 raids to get the helmet too".

Frant, I didn't expect such a nonsense crap post from you.
Pandas has been discussed many times to be added into the game as neutral faction and now that they are adding it, people are compaining? And yes, they appear in Lore and as well in wc3. and Kung Fu Panda movie was made in 2008

I like WoW, but i hate this shitty new kiddy expansion.
But in all fairness Frant, the item ting goes for most popular RPG/hack'n slash games.

Oooh, the addicts become butthurt when their drug of choice is criticised.
I played WoW for ~4 months or so, took two characters to lvl 80, and towards the end I was so disillusioned and saw the game for what it was, a shallow and simplistic game using classic psychological mechanisms to get people addicted. It's even been proven WoW (and other MMO's) use mechanisms that affect the reward center in the brain (causing small puffs of dopamine to be released when you get a new item you've wanted for so long etc). WoW-derps get so into the game that they actually believe anything they achieve in WoW is worth something.
I loath WoW and any similar MMO using the same mechanics to trick gamers into becoming paying addicts.

You are right, but that's how every game works, specially rpg's. The "problem" is that when games take that to a successful new level like Farmville recently, they became criticized for sheeping people. I don't see people pointing the finger at CS, TF2, MW, SC and so on for doing exactly the same thing.

lol @Pl@tinum
More then ENOUGH are bitching about MW being the same over and over and over.
As for SC, well that one got changed more then enough compared to SC1, cant really say they just copy/paste shit (and even if there are alot of things looking the same, it is a game that was MASSIVE populair for the past 10+ years, cant blame em for that).

I meant doing the same thing as wow, that is, sheeping people with rpg tricks so that they continue to play forever.

We seen pandas and automaticly people assume "oh kiddy". Heck, for all we know, it can be the bloodiest most mature content add yet for WoW ...

I wouldn''t say they're kiddie stuff, but to me they seemed like they were meant to be for the luls in warcraft 3 and they dont really fit with the overall theme. I wouldnt mind if they're in the game playing a small part as some npcs or w/e, but creating some bs weird lore for them kinda sux.

Wow. 4 months, a damn fine bit of game playing. Sure got me beat over my 7ish years of playing including the F&F beta for the vanilla. And the 8 60's I had back, when playing the game was kinda difficult for the retards of the world. I kid, partially. The game was good, it went down hill hard and fast after TBC. The thing you're talking about is called the skinner effect, you can also look up a skinner box. Everything in the world is based around this.
You work, you get paid, you're rewarded in money. In turn you use this 'reward' for various other things, and so on. Same applies with sex, food, a "safe" place to live, not taking a shit on your chair, and so on. All species that are at or near the top of the chain in the world work on the same system, because if we didn't have a built in system to 'reinforce' something positively, we wouldn't be alive. Or we'd be pretty damned sick.
So to sum it up: Skinner effect. Welcome to reality, you, me, everyone else? We're all creatures of positive reinforcement.

Frant, do you have some weird personal bad experience with WoW or why do you always act like such a prick when it comes this game ?
You can tell us ... show us on the teddy bear where WoW touched you LOL.
What i mean is, if he had fun playing the game for 7 years, who the fuck are YOU to tell him otherwise ? yeah, exactly ...

i played since beta -> 1=2 months of wotlk, when wow did go down in the crapper.
i had fun playing 2-3 hours/3-4 days / week doing some raids, having some beers and talk with my guild (i was in only 1 guild from the begining to the end.)
wow was on my top 3 of prefered things to do in that time. after fun with wife and fishing/hiking.

He responded to me, remember? I just answered in an honest way. Why do you clench your anal muscle and rant about something that you had not part in?
I hate WoW, I think people that play WoW for prolonged time (3 months and upward) are no better than drug addicts or grave alcoholics, ie. they haven't managed to rise above and beat a bad habit. I rose above and saw it for what it was, an ultra-shitty game that was designed purely to get me hooked to pay their monthly fees. The content is all shallow and empty, added as an afterthought or to hide the addictive mechanics from people that never analyse their own behaviour. I've seen people claiming they had "fun" while playing. Mostly they were frustrated, pissed off at the daily grind, getting nuts about some "n00b tank who failed the raid" etc.. The only pleasure they got was when they received the precious final Badge or Token so they could run and buy the purple level item above the one they already had... So sad...
Of course, these are my PERSONAL opinions and as such you're not obligated to take them seriously or care.
However, it's interesting to see how addicts fight back to defend their drug of choice, it's predictable and quite amusing at times.

Dude, I was duped myself and was on my way into WoW-addiction when something, inner radar, exposed it all in my mind.
And about people not able to kick bad habits being weak, is that wrong? They've been weakened by their addiction. Their brain-chemistry has been somewhat altered and they no longer have the strength to fight it and get off it. Those who do we call strong. Those that don't, aren't they weak then? And I don't mean weak in a denigrating way really, it's more a pragmatic statement about the way things are. I have tons of weaknesses but WoW is not among them. If people can't see the way WoW's "innards" are constructed through prolonged game play, that's their problem, but I have the right to state my opinion on it based on my own experience and thoughts, right?

Who cares if they appear in the lore, a lot of shit appears in the lore that make people vomit, lore is only for supernerds who read badly written warcraft universe novels.
If aliens with plasma guns would be in the lore and were some kind of worshipped star people in warcraft 3 secret lulz level, doesnt mean it would be any less ridiculous when added to wow as a race with plasmaguns.
Pandas are a lulz race in warcraft 3.
Either way, the race looks ridiculous. But it wouldnt be that bad if not for the kung fu shit.

Nice to know you didn't actually mean it the way you made it sound
You have every right to speak your mind, and so do I.
As for who's weak and who's not, I don't think in those terms. We're all potentially weak as babies or strong as rocks. It's circumstantial and more or less completely out of our hands.
But that's me.
