It's circumstantial and more or less completely out of our hands.
I do not agree with that. The logical conclusion of that is that we are not actually responsible for anything we do whether we fail or not. There are obviously circumstances that can make things more difficult, genetic predisposition for substance abuse (whether alcohol, opiates etc.) for instance, but in the end it comes down to strength of will and realising how it affects you and how you work and then make the necessary changes.

You misunderstand.
I'm not saying we don't have a choice given what we have - but that our capacity for change and our "willpower" are based on things that are largely beyond our control. Everything starts at such an early age that we're powerless to direct our own foundation.
Responsibility is irrelevant if what enables or disables you existed before your persona really did.
If the strong wants to believe that his capacity is of his own making and he deserves a reward, then that's fine.
It's not something I'd necessarily agree with.
Essentially, every individual is unique and has been exposed to unique circumstances, and has a set of unique capacities based on things we don't - as of yet - understand.
So while it's possible to "will" your way out of a hole, it's impossible to determine why or if another person is capable in the same way.
i find it rather amusing, that people like frant (and i use the term people lightly here) think, they are better than others, because of what game they are or arent playing ...
anyway, dont bother replying frant, you are back on ignore where you belong, together with besthijacker ...
You wasted 7 (!!!!!) years on that turd of a game? And you somehow think playing it for LONGER than 4 months is better? Then you have missed something important here. I weep for my 4 months of wasting time. You've wasted years on it.
I can only say...
That said, I never played it pre-TBC (or pre-WOTLK for that matter).
You missed the point but that's okay, read it again slowly. The game pre-wrath was much, much better. I've always looked at it as time vs investment. If I play something for 7 years, paying $15/mo, and can play with family or gf, or whoever else that lives across the country. I consider that a good in terms of cost/time. If I played it for myself, because I use it to escape or don't like people, again I'd consider that good in terms of cost/time.
Just remember, blowing $500-600mo for a trip across north america round trip via plane is much more expensive than $15/mo.

Nope, time is money.
Trip = 1 week = 7x24 = 168 hours.
7 years of WoW = 7 years = (77x83248)^34+324243+3247864/234234 = mind exploded
yeah, because he played 24/7 for 7 years ...
heck, for all you know, he played 1 hour a month ? why do people care about how much someone else plays a game anyways lol.. jelly ?
I don't care, but he cares enough to share. I am just responding to the (imo) flawed comparison he made. He can jump off a bridge and die for all I care, I won't recommend it though.
Pandas? Why??
Blizzard has given the Panderan a rich culture and a specific way of thinking. A history that goes back beyond the sundering with their own struggles and accomplishments. They have an identity beyond "Look, its Pandas."
This is something I want to touch on a bit more. People seem to think that Pandaren were a joke, a throw away easter egg that we never fully intended as a playable race.
I will direct you to recall the Warcraft RPG (pen and paper) manuals released in 2003. While much of it hasn't been canon for quite some time, the Pandaren occupy a greater amount of pages and space within the manuals to establish their lore and story than pretty much every other creature on Azeroth. To give it some context, they occupy the same number of pages as Trolls in the Monster Manual, and share the same amount space in the Alliance and Horde Compendium with Orcs or Humans, and just like them ... you guessed it... Pandaren were a playable race.
(there's also an awesome sketch Metzen did of a Pandaren, Dwarf, Furbolg, and Gnome hanging out all friendly-like)
As I said a lot of this was pre-World of Warcraft, and by whatever stroke of fate, Trolls and Forsaken became playable races and Pandaren, Naga, and Furbolgs did not. Some other mix could have just as easily been true, and no one would have questioned it. Worgen didn't even exist back then, of course, they were a new creation for World of Warcraft.
It would simply be inaccurate to state that Pandaren were a throw away. Our intent, going back to Warcraft III, when the vast majority of the world lore and story was established for the franchise, was always to have a deep and rich history for a race known as the Pandaren.

Haha, yup, that's the one. Thank you. And this is actually a great resource covering the contents of the manuals, just please keep in mind that much of it is now highly inaccurate and the visual style of the Pandaren have changed quite a bit since then.
It's a pure gimmick to move WoW to China since subscribers in US and Europe are falling rapidly. With a population of 1 billion+ Blizzard probably hope they can get a completely new audience that aren't just gold-farming.
What part of they look ridiculous and everyone thinks they are a joke doesnt Blizz understand, like I said no one cares that they were included to the lore eons ago, I bet if you dig deep enough you will find Paris Hilton to be their leader.
But I am sure they know what they are doing, its Blizz after all, them Chinese market is still have and relatively untapped.

Honestly, with all the money they are getting from monthly subscriptions they should be releasing content patches every 2 weeks, not twice a year. Retexturing mobs and creating 2 new boss models shouldn't take them this long.
Players that exploited LFR to get loot multiple times supposedly are receiving 3-8 day bans tonight.

Shortly after patch 4.3 was released, we became aware that some players were abusing an exploit to obtain loot from the same Raid Finder bosses multiple times in a single raid lockout period (one week). The Raid Finder loot mechanic is of course intended to only allow a person to roll on boss loot drops once per raid lockout period. The raid lockout mechanic has been a mainstay of the World of Warcraft rules since Onyxia and Molten Core, ensuring that no one can obtain loot from a boss more than once per lockout. Due to the nature of the exploit and the clear intent of those who abused it, they've been issued notices and given temporary suspensions from the game. We’re also working to remove all Raid Finder items from those who used the exploit.
