Patch on steam today, game now actually starts without gibbed's hack but the lag and stuttering is so bad it takes forever to get thru the opeining screens and menus.
Still needs gibbed's hack to be playable on my dual core.
Funny how everybody used to rave about how great Avalanche studios were as devs. I dont see it. without that hack the game would still be unplayable for 2 days now.

Runs great here using Skidrow release, Theta update, and that dxgi.dll fix.
AMD x2 6000
8800GTX
2 gb DDR2
This game reminds me of Jackal, one of my favorite games from the NES days.

Doesn't need a quad core, the hack makes the game think its a triple core.
Plus the fact that the game runs flawlessly with the hack just proves that Avalanche doesnt know wtf they are doing with the patches.

Yeah I just noticed it downloaded a pretty big amount of files.
(Rewrote most game engine files minus the actual archives but added some other archive that might contain the patch data, about 150 MB or so but still rewrote most core files.)

after i downloaded the theta release with update & .dll fix, it works.. but game controls with keyboard is shit.. i think im gonna pass this =/

You definitely want to turn on tank steering if you're using M+KB.

Interesting, will try it out next time I play the game, haven't tinkered much with the options at all.
(Wonder how that will work, hopefully it's as I think it does.)

This needs to be installed over Renegade.Ops.v1.0r4.multi6.cracked.READ.NFO-THETA
or it crashes. Doesn't work on SKIDROW release at least for me.

Yes you have to finish one mission and then you can start the next one, no checkpoints or similar.
(Again similar to old arcade games, Desert Strike for the NES just to use a example I remember though it relied on passwords, or that cop game with robots whatever it's name was.)

Okay, downloaded some file dxgi.dll now it's fine.
 at the gamepad message, looks just like the gamepad I use to play, probably because they are the same.

Runs like 200-300fps all the time, too bad it doesnt use SLI (it would run like 400fps otherwise, which would be overkill anyway)
