Soooo if U3 works on 3.55 doesn't that mean that any other game before U3 could work ass well, right?but seeing how U3 has a problem with drake's jurnal does that mean that every game would have a diferent problem?

Yeah, and don't think you can just blag it at the point where you would refer to his notebook, as far as I can tell the notebook opens automatically at points and at that point will crash.
Still, I think this development justifies setting the 46Gb download away....

A couple of questions:
- Opening the journal is obligatory by the game?
- The journal issue is a result of eboot fix or was it a glitch/bug in retail which was fixed with official update/patch?
Q6600 OC 3.0ghz, MSI R9 280x Gaming Edition, 7gb ram, Asus P5KC

If this was in the retail then the devs really fucked up. The PS3 has one configuration for all so there is no excuses.

Confirmed seems like the problem with journal was with all games and had to fix with update patch

How can you keep playing past the Journal bug? How often do you have to access the Journal?

just dont open it and use online help with puzzles and maybe we can finish it that way ! its the only solution atm anyway ! in UC2 u use journal only like few times to solve puzzles and thats it !
the fact that we can play UC3 on cfw 3.55 its a big awesomeness in its self !

My question is, if opening the Journal hard freezes the console, then how would we get past that point? Doesn't the Journal auto-open whenever a puzzle sequence is available?

just the puzzles get more difficult due to lack of journal help?

I got the retail game and there was one scene where he used the journal automatically.
It was at the puzzle with the pillars with the holes in it.
So maybe that is as far as you can get with this fix.

Thanks for the confirmation, 00101010 =) I guess, for now, people should play it as a super-extended demo.

Sure there's a possibility, though you'll need someone else's save -- and also to use something like Rebug in order to fake-save it over to your own user or try the homebrew "Save Unlocker" stuff. It should work then, at least until the next auto-journal event. Now that the fix is out there, I'm pretty sure there are OTHER people working on it as well, along with DUPLEX perhaps? Just wait and see what happens.

It was in chapter 11.
The save game trick could work, or maybe you can somehow skip it.

@sabin Is this eboot somehow related to reversing True blue or something new ?

As far as I know, it's unrelated - so without knowing EXACTLY what the True Blue uses to accomplish it's results, I couldn't say with absolute certainty. I don't THINK True Blue are using this kind of stuff, but you never known.

I guess we'll all find out once TB hits the shelves and gets into the hands of crackers that aren't merely trying to profit from it.
