..BF3 wouldn't look as good because EA wouldn't be willing to invest so much money for the limited market of just 1 platform.

See, the last screenshot is the ONLY one that DOES look authentic with the flare and dust/particles, since you're sitting underneath a canopy scratched and damaged by shrapnel/weapons fire, as well as the canopy itself refracting the light. It's the REST of the game where that shit annoys the piss out of me.

The lens flares and spots are still camera related and would not appear to a naked eye, so still it is not "good".

Well this is before the puts on the glass. When she does, she has the targeting HUD, which is not seen here.
Also, lens flare is not just a term, it is a technical limitation of lens systems. The reflected and refracted light would still appear, but your eyes would not see the geometrical shapes emulated by the game.

The HUD doesn't appear automatically, she had to turn it on, if I remember correctly.

No, I was using the phrase as a term, since it's the one most people recognise. What I'm really talking about most the time is light refraction, which is very similar to the typical "lens flare" we see in BF3 and pretty much anything made by J.J.Abrams. I wasn't convinced about the shapes though, since I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them with my naked eye when light refracts through a window, for example.

all these 'awesome' graphics I just find myself finding ways to turn them off, I hate anything blur, bloom and the new fxaa or whatever just adds more blur. I hate how graphics have evolved into everything shiny and blurry.
The only graphics that impress me are animations, textures and shadows. I could give a fuck less about the rest.

Same. And ironically, shadows and textures are usually pretty poor no matter how 'graphically advanced' the game. I think that's the point with all the shininess and blur though; hiding the low quality of the art assets.

The graphics look good for their time in most games , BF3 got deleted after the russian guy mission , i thought it was horrible even at 1680x1050 all on ultra and the gameplay was shite , stupid cue points for retards, boring.
Today it is my turn to be AN knobhead

no... look at a hollywood movie, it's about being 'cinematic' & mimicing cameras to look cool, not our eyes
the obvious example is kane & lynch 2, shakey cam + bright lights do a weird vertical lens flare + flicker, even has video compression artifacts
