Your impressions are incorrect, sir. It's not online-only, though it does have co-op capability.

Ok guess I'll be trying it out before I buy then. Tbh only BF3 has delivered of all the major titles lately. I'm a bit dissapoint. Wouldn't surprise me if this is shit too as I have high expectations.

Say.. Gamersgate changed their date to the 9th as well. If I buy it from there, I assume I won't get my key until the 9th?

Just as to be clear those groups aren't very open and they do not use P2P distribution methods, that's part of what happens when others download from those distro FTP things whatever or how it works and then re-distribute it via Usenet, Torrent, HTTP and such. Smile

Still a (working) disc image would be very useful to decrypt the content early.

Never been able to judge emotions very well on the internet or similar, sorry about that. Smile
(I mean this is a bit more obvious but browsing sites like Piratebay, WBB, Rlslog or CS.rin it gets a bit more diffuse since people usually state these sort of things there quite frequently.)

Still it'll be out in nine hours according to Steam and if it's just CEG it might not be very long before it's leaked onto the net.
(Well I guess ALI213 will be at it pretty quickly but I don't know if they can crack CEG protection that well compared to Skidrow and Reloaded and what other groups are currently active.)

EDIT: Actually never been that good with reading emotions at all since I prefer to look a bit below face level, for some reason this is seen as problematic when I'm talking to females.

The hardest part about reading people online, is that they're generally extremely dishonest because "losing face" is so undesirable. So even if you read them 100% correctly, they'll change it up or pretend otherwise - just so you haven't "figured them out".

As for this game, I'm hoping it'll be more like Dark Alliance than those other LotR action games from a few years back.

Return of the King wasn't bad. Frustrating as hell at times but pretty fun IIRC.

as far as me BSing about RLD, i thought that was pretty obvious.

Both of them were ok, but I'm not really into that kind of hack/slash game if there aren't more RPG elements. I like me some deeper character development Wink

I wouldn't say "deep" - which is why I said "deeper".

Dark Alliance was more like Dungeon Siege 3 in terms of character development, with more skills and choices. Also, it had a lot more gear diversity and such.

The two LotR games were more like straight hack/slash with a very simplified character development system, and it was a lot more about "action set pieces" than leveling up and looting.

I'm a much bigger fan of leveling up and looting, than I am of being driven down tight corridors to "experience" the game like I was in a movie.

Dark Alliance was VERY much like Dungeon Siege 3. In fact, if it hadn't been Obsidian's stamp on it - I'd have swore blind DS3 was made by Snowblind. It was almost identical (visual quality notwithstadning, come on... Razz) to the old PS2/Xbox titles; Dark Alliance 1/2, Champions, FOBoS. That's one of the reasons why I enjoyed DS3 so much, despite the butchering from the originals, because I'm a fan of Snowblind-style hack'n'slashers.

Oooh, oooh, and not forgetting the PSP outings either; Silverfall and Dungeon Siege. Both the same style as War in the North/DS3/etc.

Reviews begin to show up, IGN gave it 7, GT 7.2. Seems my suspicion was right, the game is medicore at best. It seems that combat is very repetetive and bland in the long run, story forgetable , characters genereic etc... Blah Sad Snowblind dropped the ball this time...

How on earth is 7 considered "mediocre"? It's no wonder games are shit these days, unless it scores a 9 or 10 people just don't care Sad Now I'm not saying WitN *isn't* mediocre, I wouldn't know since I haven't played it - nor have you - but saying "Yep, it's shit. It only got 7/10" is just... arghhhhh.... CAUSE not SYMPTOM of the decline of gaming.

Read the IGN review. I have nothing positive to say about IGN, but I can't dismiss that it sounds like a pretty run-of-the-mill zzz game.

I'll check out the "demo", but will likely not bother playing for long.

Annoying that they didn't go into detail about character development and loot diversity, but then again - it's IGNorant.
