i can confirm that the journal works now, havent been to chapter 9 yet, so i cant say if that also works. You can run it from external but i dont suggest it, general loadtimes are very long and texture streaming issues/popin are present. From internal it works good.
I used the description in the latest nfo:
Spoiler: | (1) Move PSARC.EXE + zlib.net.dll to \USRDIR\build\main\ of your UNCHARTED 3 GAME DATA folder (not the one included with this package)
(2) Extract ALL *.psarc's into the folder they are already in (\USRDIR\build\main\) on your HDD by dragging each .PSARC file onto PSARC.EXE (delete the .PSARC files after you have extracted them to folders)
When you're done it should look like this:
..\USRDIR\build\main\actor33\
..\USRDIR\build\main\animstream4\
..\USRDIR\build\main\bin\dc1\
..\USRDIR\build\main\pak23\
..\USRDIR\build\main\text1\
IMPORTANT: When you unpack bin.psarc it creates two folders - empty bin folder and one bindc1 folder with files. Rename folder bindc1 to dc1 and put it in the \main\bin\ folder so it looks like this: \main\bin\dc1\
(3) Now, merge included USRDIR folder with the existing one where you extracted your psarcs. OVERWRITE all files when prompted.
(4) Transfer to your PS3, load in Multiman, launch from XMB.
(5) PROFIT. |

I'm on chapter 4 only but so far it feels a stepback from UC2 imo. Also the gfx are worse.Maybe it gets better after a couple more chapters.I hope.

Gotta agree with you, the dark London areas at the beginning dont do the engine justice imho. But it gets better later on.

And yet the nfo had a "fuck you" to moogie??? Seems a bit hypocritical.

Tell me about it, lol. A leaker complaining about another leaker. Yet it was STILL going to be released anyway! As you could see from the initial release; it had issues and wasn't tidied properly. C'est la vie.

Worse.
I just spent 3hrs building the damn fix and my journal is still freezing.
Any guidance on what I can check to fix this problem without reapplying the fix all over again..?
My save game works. The game loads but as soon as I hit the select button for the journal it fucking freezes.

You mean out of the game directory..? Or in my case on my PS3 Hard Drive..?
I know the nfo said to delete them but the way it's stated to me it says to delete them off your hard drive not specifically the PS3 hard drive. Or am I just confused....

i also had one bug which consists of opening the journal and falling under the ground, but no more of these, though. So far on chapter 6 and like the other UC the story is amazing.

For all of you having problems:
- Delete the psarc files after unpacking them. Then transfer them to internal or external (I have it on external because I have a 120gb slim and the psarc method is for that purpose:Make games with 4gb+ work on fat 32).
- Download the usrdir fix and merge it with the psarc compiled you already build.
- Copy again camera.txt back and apply just in case the included eboot.bin.I don't know if there are actually changes in this eboot (seems unlikely).

I went ahead and re-grabbed the release
My plan is to go into Mulitman and delete the game off my PS3 then reapply the fix to the one I just re-grabbed.
I don't know if this is part of my problem or not but I watch a few youtube videos of people patching the game and they did all the patching on their desktops. I already had the game on my PS3 so I ftp'd the psarcs down to my desktop, extracted them. Once done I took the fix files and over wrote the extracted psarc folders. I don't see how this could have not worked. It's a little backwards but in my mind serves the same purpose.
I still have my game save on my PS3 so I shouldn't have to start a new game.
If my above plan doesn't work, I'm not sure what else to do. There are more people reporting this fix works for them than not, so I figure it's worth another go before I give up.

I think you forget some steps:
- There is a release which contains a usrdir folder with files.Did you download this package?
- You must delete the psarc files after unpacking them.
- If the game was already on your internal drive it's obvious that you have deleted the camera.txt file.Restore this file back in its folder.
- If all fails try running the game from external.
