Dear God...

On Operation Firestorm, an enemy squad placed a spawn beacon on a road leading to one of the objective, with no cover right in front of about 12 players who were guarding the objective.

They kept spawning on the same spot and everytime they did my mates cut them down, some even camped at the spot and stabbed them as they spawned.

Those same players died about 20 times before realizing that maybe spawning there isn't such a good idea.

Talk about a massacre.

They are the vanity-items of BF3 for the collectoroholics. In future DLC DICE might even add dog tag-earrings to show them off.

They did.

I told them not to spawn there but they kept doing it.

God I hate campers. Not enemy campers, but team campers. I really don't care if people want to stay in one place all the time, but when you block an entire corridor preventing me and others from passing through, that just pisses me off.

So after the 5th time that happened, me and my squad mates decided to mow them down. Thank god for friendly fire.

^^ That. Why would you want a 590? Just get a 580 and be done with it. My own 570 runs this game on Ultra and I get 55-60 all the time. A 580 would be even better <3

This pissed me off yesterday when i saw it:

The 10 most popular platoons!
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/news/view/2832654774282527277/

    1. DICE - 3758 Fans
    2. Reddit - 928
    3. Shibby´s club of own - 741
    4. Don´t revive me bro - 677
    5. Easy Company - 542
    6. Reddit - 498
    7. Battlefieldo - 476
    8. BF3Blog - 449
    9. Battlefield 3-CZ - 436
    10. Mybattlefield.ru - 412

First of all, why the fuck do they include themselfs? Just to make them look better then the rest?
How the fuck can you compare a platoon full of devs, to normal people. OFC they will ALWAYS have more "buttlickers" then other squads do.
So why fucking compare? Just to boost their epeen or what?

Second, how the fuck do they get the number "3758"?
When i last looked up the platoon "DICE", i got this as result:

 Spoiler:

Xbox: 558 fans
PC: 944 fans
PS3: 4 fans (if that is the real one, doubt they would have D1CE?)

Anyway, 558+944+4= (takes calculator, as i'm lazy Razz) 1506

1506 is by far not 3758, so why the fuck are they lying even about it?

Crossfire issues are just as horrible, donno how Nvidia is scaling wise, but that might be the only thing what ATI has better (if that is even the case).
Crossfire is horrible and i can know it.

I'd ordered a 3GB 580 through a friend - but it was delayed, and I'm the impatient sort. So I thought - what the hell - and went for a 590 instead.

Pretty superfluous, I agree, but at least I don't have to worry about performance for a while.

BF3 is the first PC game to come out in ages that actually does something with the platform (apart from The Witcher 2 - I guess) - and I'd like to be prepared for more games of that nature Smile

Besides, I just got a raise - and the money is going to be spent anyway.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Where did I say SLI?

This game is broken with multi-GPU setups, period. Doesn't matter whether you're on NVIDIA or AMD, both have issues unless you are very lucky and have the exact correct combination of drivers and settings.

@Casus

Well if you can comfortably afford and justify it, then good for you Very Happy I'd be prepared to disable one of the cards for BF3 though, as it reportedly has some nasty issues with GPU scaling. Either way; congrats on the beastly new purchase! I'd have saved money and hassle with a single card, buy another down the line when it's needed, but that's just me grinhurt

Well, this game has issues on a lot of cards it seems. It ran ok on my 5870 with textures set to high - but I got all kinds of flickering textures and the occasional "green flash". I don't overclock - so I don't know why.

As for the dual-gpu 590, I don't expect miracles. Isn't it possible to set it to "single-GPU" mode or something?

It's easy when you know how to fly the damn thing properly. Plus, most of the time I get saddled with morons who don't know how to shoot either.
So any help would be apreciated Very Happy

Thanks Wink

Well, I won't argue that it's particularly sensible. At first, I'd considered a 570 - but I hate getting a new toy unless it's really significant. Once I decided I wanted more than 1.5GB VRAM for the future (BF3 already pushes the 1GB stuff) - the price was so high, I thought I might as well go for the 50% potential performance increase of the 590 for a bit more money.

But it IS kinda over-the-top. Sometimes, you just have to spoil yourself a bit. I haven't had a new toy in ages. The last 5-6 months, the GF has been spoiled.

Now it's my turn Smile
