Yes I grabbed version 4 of the fix files

fearwhatnow wrote:

I read the nfo and see that this needed to be done. So I did that.

Hmm...Now I feel stupid if that's all I had to do instead of re-grabbing the release. I might try this just for fun on the files already on my PS3 hard drive just to see if it works. I've done so much moving of files and FTPing that I don't know for sure if I actually checked to see if that file was in their or not. The way the game is behaving it's clear that I haven't applied any fix at all or I missed something

Ya think.... Smile
Okay, I admit it. I was in a hurry because I saw the fix and I was so pumped to play the game all I could think about was getting this done as quickly as possible. I know how to do this stuff and if I would just stop and think things would be a heck of a lot easier.
I appreciate the insight and I will report back when I have this up and running.

fearwhatnow wrote:
- If all fails try running the game from external.

I can't do this without buying an external drive. To make a long story short I had an external laptop size hard drive and I took it out of the case and used it for my PS3 internal drive because of it's large size.

Pulled this off another site. I was having the spinning issues until I did this

Uncharted.3.PROPER.FIX.KMEAW355.READNFO-Nobody

If so the file structure within the FIX is wrong so the following must be changed otherwise the game will not run (screen with spinning ring forever) or may hang at some chapters.

1.- Folder inside FIX, named movies1 MUST be renamed as movie1 (without "s").
2.- Path for each folder inside FIX is USRDIR/build/ and MUST be changed to USRDIR/build/main/.

Happy to report that my additional work has paid off.
My Journal in the game now opens. Smile

Wasn't really all that hard. All I had to do was read the instructions carefully and follow them.
Imagine that......

There is a 10GB fixed posted on rapid-share that fixes all issues.

I haven't come across a 2GB fix yet

As one user said in another forum, I've ftp'd so many files already what's another 10GB gonna do.

This:

Quote:

Follow these steps IN ORDER:

(1) Move PSARC.EXE zlib.net.dll to \USRDIR\build\main\ of your UNCHARTED 3 GAME DATA folder (not the one included with this package)

(2) Extract ALL *.psarc's into the folder they are already in (\USRDIR\build\main\) on your HDD by dragging each .PSARC file onto PSARC.EXE (delete the .PSARC files

after you have extracted them to folders)

When you're done it should look like this:

..\USRDIR\build\main\actor33\
..\USRDIR\build\main\animstream4\
..\USRDIR\build\main\bin\dc1\
..\USRDIR\build\main\pak23\
..\USRDIR\build\main\text1\

**IMPORTANT: When you unpack bin.psarc it creates two folders - empty bin folder and one bindc1 folder with files. Rename folder bindc1 to dc1 and put it in the \main

\bin\ folder so it looks like this: \main\bin\dc1\

(3) Now, merge included USRDIR folder with the existing one where you extracted your psarcs. OVERWRITE all files when prompted.

and this:

If you used the files from the v4 fix then the second stuff that you quoted were already taken care of with those files (pr at least they were on the V4 I got - no need to renames the movie1 folder and the structure os the USRDIR was correct and already contained the modified eboot).

No!!!
This fix.

There are so many for this game I've lost track of fixes and FTPing a thousand files to my PS3.

News Taken from PS3iso

Quote:

The current fix for Uncharted 3 didn`t really work for me. I had a lot of loading issues. For example: Some cutscenes or objects in the game didn`t load properly. Also the loading times are very long after you extract the .psarc files. Therefore I decided to repack all the files and it works like a charm.

-No freezing issues
-No loading issues (e.g. loads treasure animation)
-Faster loading times
-Normal game size
-Easy to apply

How it works?

1. You need the original Duplex release. It doesn`t matter if you have deleted languages or 3d movies.
2. If you already unpacked the psarc files and deleted the original ones delete the folders actor33, animstream4, bin, pak23 and text1 in BCES01175\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main.
3. It doesn`t matter if you already copied the patched files from the first fix.
4. Now Copy the USRDIR from the archive below to BCES01175\PS3_GAME and overwrite everything. If there is no message to overwrite something, you`ve done something wrong.
5. After everything is overwritten you can copy game to your ps3.
6. Have fun with this awesome game.

The links for the download are there and it's 10GB for the whole fix. A lot are asking if there is anything that can be done to our current release we already have to fix the speed and loading issues. No real answer was given but quote below:

Quote:
I know that 10.8 GB are a lot to download, but it`s the easiest way to do this.

So what's the hard way...?
Is it worth it to grab another fix of files..?
I started some of this before I had to go to work and they were downloading really fast, I just don't have the time to sit at my computer for an hour and download each one of these in turn.

I played for a couple hours last night and my journal works without issue but I am experiencing missing items. A scene where I was climbing a ladder was suppose to be populated with bad guys when I got to the top. Instead no one was around and then the game suddenly crashed. Went to my game save and reloaded and rebooting my PS3 and the scene was complete and loaded fine. Had the game not crashed I wouldn't have been able to carry on since the scripted events didn't load.

I do also want to add that when I reached the top of the ladder (before game crashed) I was standing it what appeared to me as "No-Clip Mode". I could see the whole level with all the walls and rooms as I was just standing their floating in mid-air.

I had te same problem numerous times, i think HD is not fast enough to load all the files i had it most times @ the chase. solution is to restart last checkpoint and do it again then its all there.

With HD i mean Harddisk, dont wait but press start and select restart last checkpoint. What happens if you replay?

Ok then something went wrong extracting or transfering the files to your harddisk. Delete everything and do everything again then your problem should be gone. Trust me i fucked around for 2 days to get this game working i had the strangest problems from journal to certain chapters not loading and also you problem but i just had to restart the last checkpoint.

That fix is older than the one I posted above that is 10GB.
See my post at the top of this page for more information.

I went ahead and grabbed the 10GB fix from rapid-share and my game is running better.
It still will lock up every once in awhile but I'm not having long loading times, missing textures, sound, subtitles or anything else like I was before I applied this fix.

I have also not removed anything as of yet from the game files. I still have 3D movies and all languages intact.

I generally buy the games where I spent 5 hours or more Smile
