Did you download the FULL version? If the MM you downloaded is less than 10MB, it's not the full install. You need a full install PKG to update from a pre-v2 to post-v2 MM. Secondly; don't forget to go to the XMMB options and change the BDEMU driver to Hermes from Standard. Thirdly, lastly, you'll need an updated FTP client to access MM's FTP; My old version of FlashFXP wouldn't connect at all -- needed to update to latest. Just check to make sure FTP server is enabled/started in MM's XMMB config.

i installed the base packaged v 2.09 and then installed the update on top
i have not changed tge bdemu driver yet
i am using the latest flashfxp and ftp is enabled in the settings on the ps3
i think the reason why little big planet wont play is because there is a link to ps3 games under game on my ps3 and i recall installed a pkg file for gamez folder. i looked in the multiman file manager and the game is in a gamez folder and not in the games folder. i persume i need to move it but suppose i can't until i sort out the ftp?

It will quit back to the xmb when you select a game, if you have a disk inserted and geothermal thedisk icon it should show the game have selected in Multiman

You can play some games, though some do require a disk to be in the drive before they'll work. Your best bet? Do what Werelds did; buy a new laser/housing. You're looking at around €45-50 and you'll have to match the correct model to your existing drive, then "remarry" the boards with some software, but it'll be back to new then =)
@techmob
Sorry mate, I've not tried Tintin and I haven't had any issues with game not showing up. You COULD install and try the "PL3 Fix Permissions" app. It's worth a try at least.

Oh and also check to make sure you're not going too deep on the paths for Tintin. It should be this and ONLY this;
/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ/BLES01306-[The Adventures of Tintin The Secret of the Unicorn]/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
Also, just to be on the safe side - remove the [ and ] from the paths. I don't know how well MM handles special characters. You could also just call it "BLES01306-Tintin" to make it tidier.

Is there a list of which games will work and which won't? Do you have a link to Werelds' method?

I did some quick googling, there are parts for sale for 60 bucks. I'll just try some games, I'll be happy if RDR and DS work. If not, I'll just buy the part. Thanks for the help.

Just having a quick look online (PS3ISO has a user list of diskless games) both Red Dead and Demon's Souls are confirmed working. Red Dead needs to be selected in the manager, then ran from app_home on the XMB. It won't work if you try to direct launch from inside the manager .. AND apparently the first gamedata install dies at 99%, but running it again works.
This is second-hand knowledge, so please don't quote me on this.
Oh and remember; DO NOT GO ABOVE OFW3.55! If you do, you're fucked. Go to 3.55, then install 3.55-KMEAW or Rebug 3.55.2 --- and stay there until TrueBlue comes out.

I tried renaming the folder but that didn't work
Really tempted to start from scratch
Would I need to recovery mode and out official 3.55 on and then the custom 3.55?
Anyone actually tried tin tin? Only game I can try other than my own rips

@ Mister_s
http://www.ps3news.com/subdomain.php?pagename=ps3-jailbreak
This site can give you some info about which games will run and which of them will give you problems. If a game requires disc to be present, it'll often be mentioned under "notes". Both RDR and DS should run discless, I think. I may be wrong, though.

And if you're gonna be using USB, remember it has to be formatted to FAT32. Which creates another problem, since many PS3 games contain files weighting more than 4 GB. There are several ways to go around that though - one of them is two-part application called Comgenie Awesome Filemanager/Filesplitter (one installed on the PS3, the other used as a regular app on your PC - you split files with the latter and join them together while copying with the former).

You can even use MultiMAN's new "split large file" functionality, which splits the large files on the external... and temporarily recombines that file on the internal drive for when you want to play. It's awesome. Still, it's no substitute for having large internal AND external drives. You can get 1TB internal drives for the PS3 and up to 2TB external USB.

I bought the part Mister_s (found it for 40 Euros). Try cleaning the lens first though, the PS3 is really easy to take apart. I can post a simple guide if you need it, but like I said, it is really easy.

Yah and you can watch that space magically disappear!

Well half the magic can be explained in a simple word; Sony. Bastards reserve 10-12% (number varies) of the total space for system cache. If you've got a 1TB drive (909GB total usable due to the advertising spiel) you'll lose 10-12% of the total -- which is over 90GB. NINETY FUCKING GIGABYTE! GONE!
What. The. Shit. Sony. ???.
Bah.

I, like many others, stopped following the scene during the hiatus of inactivity. Could someone please explain why Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3 have been exploited and many other games have yet to be? Cheers.
