Looks fine, although the CPU cooler is not the best and the FT02B is terrible for its price - if you like its layout, look for the FT02R-W instead, it's an updated version that actually performs close to good cases, although it's still far too expensive for what it does and can do. I'd personally also go for a 570 instead of a 580; a bit of overclocking gets you on the same level at almost half the price. Even at its current reduced price, the 580 is just terrible value for money compared to both its siblings and its peers :/
Where are you ordering from?

Ah, that explains the stupid price, poor Aussi

Even then, a 580 is not worth it in my opinion
580, 590 and 6990 are all just fucking terrible cards. The latter two are surpassed by 2 of their weaker siblings at a lower price point as well. I'm assuming you don't want to risk running into SLI or CFX issues though, so my recommendation of a 570 still stands; get one of the more expensive ones, where you get proper cooling (not to mention better VRMs). That'll allow you to overclock it well beyond 580 levels; most people I know with 570's get them to the same speeds others get 580's to (excluding people with WC/N2O setups).

Well I love my NZXT Phantom, fell in love with it ever since I first saw it and once I got it I loved it even more for its excellent build
Depends on your preferred style, but things like Lian-Li's PC V1020, Fractal Design R3, NZXT Phantom, Antec DF-85 all perform according to their price. They all have pretty good layouts as well; the Fractal can get a bit cramped and the Antec has some inconveniences, but they're all very good cases nonetheless.

Noctua DH-14 + Thermaltake Frio are better than that one, just as cheap; not sure if the Fenrir has 1155 sockets nowadays, but that one was just behind the DH-14 and Frio as well.

SInce everything is a killer in your system, might as well use some monster aircooler? Like Silver Arrow or NH-D13 ?

friend, go with 8GB of ram and try to get alittle cheaper parts so you can get an ssd disk. IMO that will give you a really huge boost, keep your computer silent etc
Otherwise very nice build.

Sweet Jesus... for $100, you'd be better off getting one of the closed-loop water kits, rather than the D14.

Check the RAM compatibilty with that cooler (there is a list on Noctua site, I think). This cooler will cover 1 or 2 RAM slots - so the memory has to fit under it.

Wow, just bought a new system as well and it's very similar.
Spoiler: | |
However, I got the P8Z68 Pro instead. I'd suggest dumping the money for the Pro version as it has some small things which make it a substantially better board. Better cooling, intel ethernet controller, more ports for just about every standard, and angled SATA ports so you don't have cables going into the ends of long GPU's.
Nor did I bother with getting 16GB of ram as 8GB is going to be way more then enough right now. Matched with a SATA 6Gbps SSD it's going to be killer fast.
Edit - I see you are more inclined to get that gigabyte board now. It's a little on expensive side IMO, and it's missing one of the more important features you want if you are buying a motherboard right now - A UEFI bios. Compared to boards from other manufacturers it has some cheaper controllers as well. All the Asus boards in that price range have the more robust Intel microcontrollers, and additional Marvell controllers for more SATA 6Gbps ports.
Didn't bother with an aftermarket cooling solution either as the stock cooler is allready fairly massive for being stock and I only plan on overclocking to 4Ghz.

I'm willing to *give* away my E8400/EVGA 750i SLI/ 4GB Ram/ Lian-Li case to anyone that wants it. You'll have to come pick it up though as i'm to lazy to deal with shipping it.

I would if they were in stock. Not a big deal as PCIE 3.0 wont be worth much until a few more years.
