I just wish more games had system link capabilities. Of course, I only have one JTAG'd console right now, but here in another month or so, I'll have at least one more that has an RGH (maybe two, if I'm lucky enough).

I just tried to kill a street gang of ninjas at level 3, they were way stronger than me, could have taken them, but then one guy showed up who was just wizzing around, almost like teleporting, shooting everywhere then doing an air jump with his ninja sword onto me and everything exploded... hot damn this game is crazy good, gotta keep playing!

How the hell can only the jtag be out? Isn't it from the dvd?

Played a bit over 3hrs last night, and I agree with deelix, it's not the prettiest game out there  Not that it REALLY matters, I mean it's not what they're going for, but it'll look better on the PC.
I'm on the fence if I really like it or not.. the over the top stuff and silly, childish humor is funny, but to a degree, I can see it getting old halfway in or something, let alone being fresh all the way through.
So far, Steelport is mildly interesting, seems like your generic "open world" city. And I absolutely UNDERSTAND that the cars are supposed to handle very arcadey for those action-packed chases and whatnot, but they feel absolutely awful to drive, I find no fun in it at all.
Production value is pretty good, I mean the voice acting is decent, considering it's silly approach to everything. Story is just.. yeah, don't bother
It's keeping a fast enough pace rigth from the start though (well, it BEGINS very fast paced and action packed, heh, but it dips down when the game actually "starts" so to speak). Missions have been so-so, I'm thinking they get better as you branch out in Steelport, so far it's been mostly basic stuff, though they have been hectic.
Enemies annoy the fuck out of me though, shooting them close quarters with a shotgun or half a clip from a SMG makes them stumble around a bit (same animation all the time, mostly), and then they are back in the game! Seriously, just fucking die already..
So yeah, first impression is a mild one, I'm not saying it's BAD, because it ain't, it's decent, but I can't see it being GOTY for me.

Given how many awesome games have been released this year I'd be surprised if Saints Row 3 is anyones GOTY!

Thanks for the impressions man. Exactly why i didn't liked at all first two games. They feels too childish for my taste (for example one of the missions you should drive and spray buildings with shit-truck. Sure would be fucking fun if i was 10-13 years old, but for someone who is at 25 - meh).
And yeah, game world is generic as hell in first games.
