I am not sure abut dl 13 gigs and maybe its not my taste.... what game may be compared to this title? Is it like GTA? Or Mafia? driving or shooting? Or more adventure or RPG ... I really can hardly imagine what type of gameplay this title is going to offer....

but this opinion I found at metacritic makes me... sceptical

"if you thought gta 4 was repetitive, you're about to get blown out of the water. so, you either drive chase someone, on foot chase someone, have a shootout and do an interview... now, imagine these are always exactly the same, and now imagine every mission is just these 4 things, over and over and over and over again... well, thats la noire "

I played the first 2 discs on Xbox 360 and then just lost interest. The story line is interesting but I hated the interrogation part, sitting there watching cgi faces and listening to the Q&A got boring and monotonous case after case. The open city is fucking useless the only side missions are lame and end too fast.

Replay value = none

But its still pretty impressive and something different the only game similar to this is heavy rain but la noire is far more engaging

Edit - If you're playing this with a controller make sure you turn off vibration for clues in options cause that shit is just makes it too easy to find whatever few clues there are in this game. Rolling Eyes

Kinda odd that LA Noire PC is not on intkeys, cdkeysdiscount or G2play, nor was I able to find it in two retail stores here, they only had console versions.

RPS tried the PC version:

Quote:
PC-wise, there’s very little new to report. No performance problems I encountered, the mandatory requirement for (mercifully in-game only, no external app this time) Rockstar Social Club is fleetingly annoying, the mouse works in the menus… Getting all the DLC in the meta-box rather than doled out expensively over successive months is helpful, even if the new, standalone cases feel too abstracted from the main game (cf Deus Ex: The Missing Link), but it means a fuller package and more chances to play ‘spot the Mad Men supporting actors.’ The controls don’t feel quite right, primarily because a gamepad rumble function was so fundamental to sniffing out clue locations: driving and the clunksome shooting are fine on the good old mouse and keyboard, comparable to GTA IV, but I did default to a pad in the end for the rumble alone. Of course, real men turn off all the clue prompts and just use their eyeballs, but I’m scarcely a real man.

The PC build looks better than the console build without looking dramatically better, primarily due to those clumsy wooden bodies, but it’s that pointless city that benefits the most. More detail, more draw distance, more brief satisfaction in soaking it all up before moping that there’s nothing to do except drive to the next crime scene, where at least you’ll lose yourself in diligently sniffing at abandoned cigarette packs and gruesomely investigating glassy-eyed bodies for clues.

Played trough the tutorial, not bad so far but it might get repetitive later on depending on how the cases and different mechanics (brawl, investigate, interrogate ans shooting.) integrate, facial recognition is great though or what to call it but the low resolution textures make it look a bit forced and clay-like or how to describe it, still most characters look quite unique and the game is overall rather detailed and has some above average visuals though it's not the best looking game out there.

A good set of options as well from visual settings to control options and gameplay help, requires that social program though for statistics and profiling (Might be gone in the cracked version.) and it's 30 FPS locked as a game engine limitation I assume, still I have no issue with this but it will cause problems for many others.
(Also only 1 to 3x AA which I guess - since 3 is a invalid value for MSAA - is some post process method - not too good with transparency though so forcing FXAA or MLAA might be preferred if possible, and you can only use 4x AF but I have that forced to 16x usually.)

OK driving and controls, not the quickest reaction times but it works out OK, game is pretty easy though that will also likely change, easy to miss some area or item and take the wrong dialogue responses.

So again it's not bad but for a full priced title it's not that ideal with this whole delay even if there's a number of additional DLC content available in this edition.
(Cut cases - three or so - and some new weapon - machinegun / tommy-gun - and a suit - appearance only - I believe.)

Now to see how the game continues from here and then it's onwards to Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Batman Arkham City and The Run. Smile
(And a lot of other smaller titles and DLC, lost adventures for Orcs Must Die just got released for example.)

Why would this game need any more than 30fps. I played an hour on the Xbox, it was a fun adventure game. I'll leech it.

It doesn't need, but it's the same as asking "why would this game need better graphics". 60fps simply looks better and is more enjoyable.
