This game is so optimized i'm OK all max except AF on 9800GT not with 60 fps though but still no stuttering or lagging :O

i5-2500k@5GHz
gtx570@950, driver 275.33
All highest settings@1080p, 55-60 most places, dips to 50 in cities and crowded areas.

The mouse fix JB posted helps a lot. Game is decent so far, except the UI which is worse than even Witcher2. Combat....feels a bit clumsy(if that's the right word) still, but I can't complain so far about setting and general atmosphere. Took a 3 hour lunch to test; now back to work.

Agreed, the shadows are pretty horrible. It feels like a glitch, as even Oblivion's weren't THIS blocky. Also, they update slowly too.

Well that's still a matter of opinion on some fronts. I'm not talking about technical beauty such as shadows, but other parts. Oblivion and its two offspring suffered from the same problem as Tech 4* (or CE1 for that matter): plastic overall look with especially character models looking terrible. Did that change in any way in this one? Source, CE2 (and CE3 for the most part) Tech 1-3, FB1+2 - none of them have that strange plastic feel to them and it always puts me off a bit :/


* Tech 4 refers to the engine in D3, Q4, ET:QW and RAGE alike

I must be an idiot but I can't figure out how to dualwield spells. I have the destruction talent for dualwielding but it just won't equip the spell to the right hand.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it. Goddamn the menu sucks.

am i missing something? the razor patch is only 128kb? is there a patch to download then install the razor patch over the files? yes i have all the files that were included but the only thing different is the data folder thats only 128kb

I set it to Medium even though it recommended Low settings.

Yes, press tilde and type FOV xx -- according to JB this is recorded in your save, so you won't have to do it again.


I'm liking the crafting system too Very Happy Aside from the technical shit and the hideous-beyond-all-words UI, I am REALLY liking Skyrim. A lot. Quite a lot.

Playing on a 2010 Macbook pro with 8GB of ram without issue here. Ultra high settings with a steady 30+ FPS

Seeing as how I can't play BF3 on anything higher than 800x600, I would definitely say Skyrim is more dependent on the CPU than GPU.

Game seems quite impressive (and immersive so far.)Took the first dungeon I encountered, great loot though it was pretty tough and took over a hour, various side quests also opened up via this and I'm only just starting to explore the landmass of Skyrim. Smile
