OMFG?! What's going on? (Got new Hardware btw, just a sidenote)

Everytime I go into the Cave in Knifepoint Ridge, for a Companion Quest, I get random system lock up after a while in there. (Picture freezes and distorded sound plays. Can't do shit except shut PC off or restart button).

Since I can play fine if I'm not going in there, my guess it's the game. At least I hope so.

Allright, it's my Hardware. I get this lock-up with BF3 too. Anyways, my Windows didn't even boot up anymore after I posten the above. I removed 1 of my G.Skill RAMs and it still didn't boot up. Then I removed the other one and everything works (so far, could be totally random now). First time I've seen a broken RAM causing total system lock ups. Is this even possible?

Maybe my Skyrim sessions killed it. At least I hope so since RAM is the least of a problem.

Got any cooling issues in the computer? When Q4 arrived I made sure to do a vent cleaning, dropped by temps by like 20 F .

That's too bad man.. If you're overheating I can see the lockups, but a bit odd with memory, may just not be completely bad and trying to use messed up areas of the memory, causing the lock.

It's the RAM. Very strange but he really does cause the lock ups. Well, have to order new ones since I bought a double pack. Wouldn't survive 2-5 weeks without a non functional PC Laughing

I'll just order the same pack again and send the old ones back. Will have 16GB in some weeks then Laughing

Of course RAM can cause total system lockups. In fact, it's very common. Crashes, BSOD's, lockups etc.. If Windows is running kernel, drivers or other system critical processes/services in the part of RAM that is borked, that's what will happen.
