right now I'm in a VAST underground cave system far below the earth, under some dwemer ruins... I forgot how long ago I entered the first levels. It's no boring cave... giant glowing mushrooms, glowing ore that looks like stars on the cavern ceiling high above, etc.
The sightless pit? I went through that last night.
Oh, textured nude mod is out. You all know what to do. Kappa

This is like sightless pit x50. Entrance is at:
Spoiler:
Mzinchaleft South West of Dawnstar
EDIT: Caveat added.
Spoiler:
I'm still not sure but I might have only been able to get into the deepest part because I had an item I found from a hermit in a cave straight north of college of winterhold, at the very north extreme of the map.

Hey bro thanks for the answer, turns out i forgot to end the quest lol...all working great now
try different settings for the
fShadowDistance
in the skyrimprefs.ini
yours is set to 16000
I think default is like 2500
now try 300
look at the shadows each time.
The higher the number, the further away shadows will appear (duh)
HOWEVER, the higher the number, the more pixelated the shadows become
with that ini value at 300, I can see individual strands of hair on shadows, but I can only see the shadows of objects that are extremely closeby.
with it at 16000, the head of my shadow is a bunch of square blocks. but objects miles away have shadows.
This sucks. Why does shadow distance determine it's resolution. Maybe a bug? I hope it is so it can be fixed.

That is interesting, some culling system then, although on Ultra (veryhigh.ini) the default is 8000.0, I normally double and halve first to get a basic understanding of the setting and what it does without too much effort.
(Nice discovery however.)
EDIT: Still at the current settings shadows are very detailed though also quite softened.
Skyrim.ini
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096 - changed that to 8192
If you notice severe hitching and single digit framerate cut down to 4096, unfortunately 4096 is default for some of these already but it will still be some improvement.
Steam is selling Skyrim for £34.99. in UK...
TheGameCollection - £26.99
While I have to pay 49.99 EURO !!!....
Steam is just milking people for money, Fuck YOU Steam
Anywhore :
I cant get the Launcher to run... Keeps crashing, so I just use the Skyrim.exe file...
But I would love to start the Launcher for GFX options...
Any ideas ???
Is .Net up to date? the redistributable folder includes some version of 3.5, might be why it crashes but I don't know the error message you get, also needs a variant of VC++ 2008, I'd go for the SP1 updated version, 32 and 64 bit if you use a 64-bit OS as the 32/x86 one is needed for 32-bit programs.
Since the game works I guess VC++ Redistributable and DirectX are up to date and functional however.
(Registry error maybe, there's a lot of settings there for the game.)
Oh and if you use UAC run it as a administrator (Not just administrative account.) if it's a privilege / restriction issue.
(And I take it you are using the patched version of the game, that recent proper by Razor1911 includes the earlier missed updated BSA archives, not that those affect the launcher however.)
Ive read on the Internet some other people have this problem, but no answer...
I have the latest Razor and your files as well...
The game runs perfectly smooth, just wanted the Launcher to turn OFF Bloom or HDR...
Dont know which is used...
Anyone else having issues with the rate at which dragons are spawning? I feel like i'm constantly being attacked by dragons. A few times i've had to reload my game or run back inside to get rid of them. Sometimes i'm lucky though and they spawn on a fort, and are killed in a matter of seconds due to the endlesss barrage of arrows. If I try to run away from dragons it's just a fruitless process that fucks up the rest of the game world due to the dragon Aggro'ing everything in a huge distance.
Its faster and better to use the Console and write in "fov 90"
I wrote it in the INI file(s) but it changes back...
Yeah, thanks, I already knew about that, but I want to set in the .ini so as to avoid having to type it in every time I launch the game.
It should work from simply saving the game afterwards.
It does, but every now and again it resets so it's easiest to just type FoV into the console after loading up the game, for me FoV and FoV 75 were the same so I guess it auto-detects,of course any value can be used and I don't know what would be ideal.
After being consumed by the game for 15 hours I realized that the framerate is all over the place. Seriously when I'm looking at a specific house from a specific angle the framerate can drop into teens while a big dragon fights stay around 40 FPS. I have a GTX460, q6600 at stock and 4gb ram. Anyone have any performance recommendations what have small effect on the looks of the game? Currently I'm playing with maxed settings except for Shadows on High, Decals on High and 2XAA.

So here is some videos to show the extreme differences:
Ultra, Nothing changed
Absolutely loving the game. Some stuff (writing, UI, textures etc.) could've been better, but still, it's so frickin fun to play, I just can't stop. The only thing that bugs me a bit are... well... bugs. For example, one time, after I did something (I have to assume, as I don't know what it was), my magicka started to regenerate at an absolutely insane level - it was virtually impossible for spells to even actually cost mana, because before they reached the target, the blue bar was full again. Had to reload a previous save to fix it.

I hope you aren't a high elf and accidently activated the High Born ability ?
So when can I use my shouts? After I kill my first dragon? I've been putting that off since I really don't want to have random dragon attacks every few hours.
Anyone stuck on College of Winterhold? I'm suppose to listen the old man Tolfdir, but he doesn't talk at all, and hes suppose to cast some spell also to me so I can block it, but even going in the right place doesn't trigger. Nothing at all :/
