Seriously, I'm level 26 now and actually didn't do shit (Story/Quest Progress) in this game but the game throws hard as fuck enemies at me already and I find late game Items everywhere.

You'll somewhat gimp yourself against certain enemies later on when you mix up points in the perk-trees too much. Let's say you wanna play it R.E.H's Conan style. A 2hand wielding thief/warrior (which implies LightArmor, Archery, Sneaking, 1hand/dualwield/blocking) for example. But you also want to do Blacksmith and Alchemy... you gonna run into problems people. Yes, you really do.

Bethesda wants you to stick to those 3..

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mage_(Skyrim)
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Warrior_(Skyrim)
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Thief_(Skyrim)

And their new "Radiant Story/Quest/World" feature will bite you in the ass if you don't do so.
(For example: What Sabin posted regarding those Ice-Shard shooting Mages. You're not the only one mate.. it's frustrating. Also tried it with Frost-Resi... and my Char is a fucking Nord too. Somehow I get the feel that it doesn't do shit against this Spell).

Just another example. There is a small Cave near Whiterun (East road) with some Trolls in it. Those fuckers smash you to pieces early on (Especially if you're melee). So you may think you should visit this place later on (Just a reminder, you've started spending points in all those Trees I mentioned above). Let's say you use 2Hand weapons. If you only put one point in the first Perk, those Trolls gonna fuck you up and you do almost no damage to them. Equals = You're dead. So let's say you're pretty strong now, played/explored alot and you wanna give it a try again... the Trolls will still give you a hard time if you didn't put enough points in the first Perk. You saved up some points and put them in there... Trolls die after two-three heavy swings and are staggered after each one, unable to attack you anyway..
That was easy now. Seriously.. WTF? Now you start exploring this cave and what you're gonna find is the killer... a friggin unique LOW-LEVEL Bow which you should have obtained way earlier in the game. And you could have.. if you didn't spent thise points everywhere...
This shit happened to me on so many locations I avoided in the beginning. Just to find out that the "Treasure" there is more for early Characters...

For me, that's kinda fucked up and drives me mad. Pure nonsense...

Played for 30 hours and 14 minutes (Even 1 of my RAM Sticks got destroyed).
And yes, that's one of the 8(10) Dragon Priest's mask.

Nice bit of info, will continue to be cautious about my char build lvl 11 at the mo and the hardest battle I have fought was at the end of the shimmerist caves obtaining the book for urab gro whatsisname.

The priest masks look cool though Smile

20 hours in... game has me hooked just like GTA and Fallout 3/NV. Dunno what any detractors were expecting from a sandbox game. If anyone was expecting visuals like The Witcher 2 or tactical squad combat like Mass Effect, linear RPG threads are on the other page.

Sabin, have you tried using Paralyze? Also had a lot of trouble against Ice Mages until I found this nice spell. It's a life-save against every tough human enemy. Just zap them and hack away while they are rolling on the ground.

I used that on dragon number one with a poisoned arrow while in the air and he crashed into the ground and we beat him with no problem. Was pretty epic.

I know this thread is pretty big so I'll just link to it directly, it's easy to miss. Smile

EDIT: And here's what I found about the UI.

http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1697630#1697630
(That key configuration tweak really helped.)

EDIT: And some other mods.
http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1696923&highlight=#1696923

EDIT: And skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini, unsure how it compares to the other configs now available but I decided to increase the settings further, needed to LAA patch the exe but other than that it seems fine. Smile

I got an annoying freeze issue which happens only in open areas.
The game stops for a few seconds then goes on like nothing happens, it seems like its loading stuff while its frozen.
The framerate is stable except for this..

I never experienced this problem in Oblivion neither Fallout/NV, considering it doenst differ much graphic wise?

I'm using almost the same graphic settings as Fallout,
High textures, all sliders around medium, high distance object detail with detail fade ticked.

Anybody else got freezing and or stutter issues?
I ignored it at first, but its getting annoying.

There is a "FIX" but you probably won't like it since it degrades your performance severely Try forcing the game to only use a single core

I did it by forcing Windows 95 compatibility in the properties of TESV.exe.

The game WILL run more slowly but you shouldn't be experiencing freezes anymore.

This is the best price for boxed edition for TR.

http://www.thehut.com/games/platforms/pc/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/10293225.html

It's better than paying a fucking cd key 40 euros. And that map is a simple plus.

Therefore, since I got the greens... Just ordered this game of the year. And I think it's worth it.

Out of money though Crying or Very sad

There's nothing odd about dungeons staying at a lower level because they were adapted to it when you entered them for the first time. Todd mentioned this in an interview. If you enter therm at a higher level you'll get the levelled loot for the lower level. Not sure if this'll work, but dungeons do "reset" after some time, don't know how long you have to wait, but they do.

So you might want to avoid dungeons you've been to and couldn't finish with a lower level character until they reset. I know it's an annoyance but it's an option. Smile

if by "avoiding" dungeons you meant going in and finding out it's too hard for you and leaving you'll gimp yourself even more, so if you want to avoid this, save before entering a dungeon then load that savegame if you can't progress anymore.

Easier to set affinity in the task manager.

Edit: Or in the shortcut:
/affinity 1
Only cpu0 will be used, 2 for cpu1, 4 for cpu2, 8 cpu3, 15 for cpu0,1,2,3, etc works binary.

To be honest that's incredibly fucking lame that anyone should have to even consider doing that, but you're not really addressing his gripe. His complaint was that despite the monsters being extremely difficult the loot for them was some low level shit. It's like smacking down the unholy dark god and finding some worn sandals on him.

You could lower the difficulty to novice, kill the trolls then change the difficulty back to whatever you had it on.
