So i have decided to get a new gfx card, but i have no clue whats best of Nvidia or Radeon. I know Nvidia has Physx which gives you some nice effects ingame and such. But it is also the other brand type, namely; gigabyte, asus, xfx so on and so on. Not going to buy the most expensive card, but something inbetween. Like geforce 570. I'm not big on overclocking because i'm kind of worried about overheating and shitty artifacts.

Nvidia has better driver support.

The best manufacturer of Nvidia cards is without a doubt EVGA.. You do pay more but you get excellent customer support and a long warranty.

Another +1 for EVGA here .. and a further +1 to the GTX570 idea. If you want a card that is stonking powerful and will last you; the GTX570. Failing that; the Radeon 6950. I wouldn't recommend any other card from either camp, to be honest, simply due to the cost/performance these two cards offer.

GTX 570 is the obvious choice. If you don't have the $$$ for it, the next best would be the 6950 (don't know if you can still get those that can unlock their shaders).

There are 3 Evga 570 cards (FUUU), one with 2500 memory and the 2 others 1200, but i have no idea if this is worth paying more for. Im using kpmpleyt.no so if you can check the site and ser which of the 3 is best i would be thankful.

Skip the 2.5GB card, not worth it unless you game above 1080p. After that it goes Classified > Superclocked > Normal - they all have the reference cooler, so it's just about whether you want the cheapest card and OC it yourself, or buy an overclocked card.

As i said, im no overclocker, but id rather overclock it myself than buying a card that has been overclocked for me. You think i should get the classified one then?

I think the 40 EUR or so extra is a cheap and easy way to squeeze out the extra performance the 570 has, so yeah. Not overclocking these cards (or the 69x0 for that matter) is a waste, because they overclock about as far as a 580 will go when done properly.

Get a Gigabyte GTX 570 Super overclock.

Or you go balls with the walls and acquire the Gigabyte GTX 580 SOC, the most powerful single-core GPU out there, once the price normalizes you could go for SLI.

http://www.inet.se/artikel/5409206/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-580-1536mb-soc

There's a bit of a secret in acquiring free shipping if you're going for this, if so, send me PM

By the way, doesn't super overclock graphics cards come from a much better batch, thus allowing for a better overclocking potential?

Any 570 will let you do that. Most will reach the same clocks you can reach with a 580 even.

Heh, the "SUPER OVERCLOCK TURBO MASTER BLAZING ULTRA EDITION!!1111" cards are a scam anyhow. At best they're 60-75Mhz OCed and you pay €20-40 extra for the trouble.

If I were you I'd wait until the christmas prices kick in and get CF 6950's, probably the best bang for the buck out there right now, in addition to the far superior Crossfire scaling.

man, make up your minds! First you say i should get a card that isn't available then i should get a super overclock card and now that isn't even good enough. I'm just gonna go ahead and buy it. I'll enjoy Skyrim a lot more with a new card too. I won't ever buy a crossfire or sli set. 1 card is enough.

Hey hey, chill! Very Happy I never suggested a card that wasn't available.. I said "GTX570" - it doesn't really matter which model you get. I bought my EVGA 570 from Komplett, same as you, I just don't think wasting money on minuscule factory clocking is a wise idea ... but that's just me Very Happy

I'm gonna reorder if you can say EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD 1280MB PhysX will be just as effective as the gainward super overclocking card.

That's the one I got and I haven't even OCed it yet - haven't found a need to. Every game (except Metro and GTA4 Laughing) is running full 60. That's just me though... I try to save money wherever I can because I'm a broke-ass Laughing

I could run Metro pretty good if i remember correctly on my 260gtx card. Is it me or is the progress between these gfx cards REALLY miniscule?

If you're completelly adamant on getting a GTX 570, get an ASUS one with DirectCU II cooling, although be warned, it takes up 3 slots. Or you go and get an MSi GTX 570 with Twin Frozr III cooling.

The ASUS one should be perfect for you though, since you are not going to SLI in the future, and the DirectCU II cooling tech will give you a lot of headroom for overclocking.

Yeah, i surely remember it completely wrong. Well, now i have the new awesome card ordered and i get Arkham fucking city with it even though i have completed it on the 360. I really hope there isn't something shitty about the card since it's the same price as the others with a shiny new game as an addition.
