You level up way too fast (needs a mod asap!)
Seriously, I'm level 26 now and actually didn't do shit (Story/Quest Progress) in this game but the game throws hard as fuck enemies at me already and I find late game Items everywhere.
You'll somewhat gimp yourself against certain enemies later on when you mix up points in the perk-trees too much. Let's say you wanna play it R.E.H's Conan style. A 2hand wielding thief/warrior (which implies LightArmor, Archery, Sneaking, 1hand/dualwield/blocking) for example. But you also want to do Blacksmith and Alchemy... you gonna run into problems people. Yes, you really do.
And their new "Radiant Story/Quest/World" feature will bite you in the ass if you don't do so.
(For example: What Sabin posted regarding those Ice-Shard shooting Mages. You're not the only one mate.. it's frustrating. Also tried it with Frost-Resi... and my Char is a fucking Nord too. Somehow I get the feel that it doesn't do shit against this Spell).
Just another example. There is a small Cave near Whiterun (East road) with some Trolls in it. Those fuckers smash you to pieces early on (Especially if you're melee). So you may think you should visit this place later on (Just a reminder, you've started spending points in all those Trees I mentioned above). Let's say you use 2Hand weapons. If you only put one point in the first Perk, those Trolls gonna fuck you up and you do almost no damage to them. Equals = You're dead. So let's say you're pretty strong now, played/explored alot and you wanna give it a try again... the Trolls will still give you a hard time if you didn't put enough points in the first Perk. You saved up some points and put them in there... Trolls die after two-three heavy swings and are staggered after each one, unable to attack you anyway..
That was easy now. Seriously.. WTF? Now you start exploring this cave and what you're gonna find is the killer... a friggin unique LOW-LEVEL Bow which you should have obtained way earlier in the game. And you could have.. if you didn't spent thise points everywhere...
This shit happened to me on so many locations I avoided in the beginning. Just to find out that the "Treasure" there is more for early Characters...
For me, that's kinda fucked up and drives me mad. Pure nonsense...
Played for 30 hours and 14 minutes (Even 1 of my RAM Sticks got destroyed).
And yes, that's one of the 8(10) Dragon Priest's mask.
There is a MOD for Leveling up Slower...
Try this...
Bethesda needs to make the items have more weight in the world as it seems in every other room I walk into stuff goes flying all over the place like a tornado has hit and books, pots and other items are all over the floor. I have opened up doors and been ht in the head by flying kettles and other items that actually hurt my character.
Nothing special so far imo. Some interesting mods here and there but I'll wait a couple of months for the big ones (full high-res textures,UI mods, levelling mods, quest fixes)
Men.. it's so enormous, at times I feel confused what to do. I'm getting new quests faster than I can complete them. Not to mention instances, on my way to 1 instance to do 1 quest, I find 10 new..
Dont you think that the companions are far too powerful - on default (medium) difficulty ?? If you take the girl and the talking dog with you, you do not even need to fight yourself. They clear the road and the dungeons, especially if you fit the girl with good equipment, that you can only grab the items left by fallen enemies. Even if they can die theoratically (unlike in Fallout 3) you have to have very bad luck to see this happen
Just using a couple of mods for blood texture replacements and nicer faces, but that's it for now.
And doing some tweaking in the .ini file here and there I think the visuals are quite outstanding and I won't necessarily need a full-texture-replacement mod for a while.
Not really a mod, but on skyrimnexus there's a nifty Excel file to check perks and plan leveling

I don't have the dog, but I got two of my companions killed. While they do seem to work great in hand to hand combat, they often get their ass kicked when you get swarmed by spell casters. I mostly use them as bait though, so I can put my two handed axe in the back of my enemy while they're busy pounding my companion face in.

I had two companions die on my on adept difficulty, the problem is I tend to hit them myself during combat
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!
I'm seeing too much popping. And it seems ini tweaks are not working for me. Any suggestions? Whatever I do, shadows are jittered and distant lands are looks pretty bad. Landscapes are just ridiclous. And I think I did something bad, because it wasnt like this before editing the .ini. I deleted the tweaked ini, game created a new one, but again, there's no solution for popping.
So is there a way to confirm that wearing heavy armor gives penalty to stealth ? Or it really doesn't matter.

Too bad there's no competition within the genre - they are getting way too lazy with this tired series while making no real progress.
I agree with that. Its really a shame that there isn't any real competition to TES series. Don't know if its to complicated to make quality open world rpg or competition thinks there isn't room for one more game like that (but i doubt that).

Indeed! I have to agree, thats a MAJOR problem, especially when you want to stay in the background yourself and help the companions with bow and spells ... I hear always the yell "I am on _your_ side!" ouch...

Yeah I think they should have had a "friendly fire" option. Of course it is more true to reality if you need to be careful to not hit your friends. BUT when they're so dumb that they'll run in front of your sword or run in between you and your foe, I would really have welcomed not to be able to hit them.
So can you marry chicks in the game? And if so, do you get that special necklace, wear it and then talk to the npc of your choice?
I tried speaking with the chick at the companions building but I didnt have that dialog option.
I haven't bothered trying the necklace yet, (marriage, hah!) but I read that it's only certain npc's that you can marry, plus (for some, at least?) you need to complete some quest for them first.
This game shouldnt be played right now on pc. Seriously, its a beta console port, with gfx from years ago and bugs and gameplay issues. I´d rather wait a few months at least until there are some decent mods out there.

For those that are still getting black squares when a target is set ablaze, I managed to fix this by renaming TESV.exe to oblivion.exe. No need to use the ENB patch.

i seriously want to fucking cry right now. really looking forward to the game, finally get it installed...
ugh... running at full screen 2560x1600, the intro scene on the wagon is all fucked up, like i see a background, and all the models/characters are like a really low opacity overlay that i can barely see... like im getting two scenes overlaying each other... i have to run it windowed at 1920x1080 for it to work properly...
and i have no mouse or keyboard controls and i dont see ANY menu settings to configure shit...what the fuck, it defaults to my 360 controller and i cant see anything in any menu to turn it off. fucking come on, its 2011, this shit is depressing this shit shouldnt happen in a AAA title, even if it is a port...
