I don't know what shit for brains developer decided it was a good idea for your horse to have the personality of Pancho fucking Villa every time there is a battle, but if I ever find out I'm going to abduct him and have a horse kick him with its hind legs right in the fucking face. Stupidity like that does not deserve to be present on this earth.

Spoilers for those who haven't gotten far in the College of Magic quest line...

This is probably a game ender for me..having to deal with such incessantly stupid fucking AI. After 40+ hours too....

sad solution i've found to that issue is let the bloody horsie die and don't take companions with me till they fix their retarded f---ed up ai (read rush into battle vs 5 frostmages poof bye companion)
and next minute they make good decisions guess it's another bug to the list

Lucky the unnoficial patch tracker is coming along nice but untill beth actually releases the toolkit we're stuck with retextures

I must be the only one to like the UI, once you get the hang of it its really not that bad. The only problem im having is how to examine an object, zoom in on it and such.

Also abit diss about the extensive use of the claw thingys in caves. From the early trailers before the game was out you got the sense the claw key was just one of a few different puzzle types where you have to examine the key itself or use it in other ways than just unlocking a door.

I've only just DLed it. According to the author, 75 is the default... so I'm going to try 100 Very Happy

~edit~

I'm curious as to why we need to edit the plugins.txt file though, as opposed to simply dropping the file into DATA and selecting it via the launcher.

~edit again~

Nope, just tested it -- and you can just select the ESP you want via the launcher, as with Morrowind/Oblivion/FO3/FONV.

Oh, and dragons are immune to soul trap.

Nope, you got me wrong. I'm complaining about that if you don't spend your Skillpoints into your Damage/Defense trees first, you'll gimp yourself later on because of the "Radiant Shit" system against certain enemies. Anyways, Smithing for example becomes quite useless (spending points in there) since you'll find most of the stuff you can craft on friggin enemies and chests (around level 25 you'll gonna find Glass/Ebony/Steelplate..) so those points would be better placed in your Damage/Defense trees.

The game makes it harder for you if you try to play it "your way". I like it hard, that's why I'm playing on Master. But this is just ridiculous.
And I'm not such guy who's trying to get the AI stuck somewhere and bombard it with Arrows/Spells... that's no challenge... that's just lame glitching / bug abusing imho. No thank you.

Nonetheless, I started a new game and did what I just said up there. The Trolls in that Cave (+ another one near a Waterfall) were cake this time. 2-3 sneaky Arrows + 2 heavy blows with Twohand Axe and they were eating dirt. At level 8!!! Ice Troll on the way to High Hrothgar = Toast.

It's kinda sad that you're better off with maximizing your Damage/Defense to 100 (Twohand and Light Armor for example) first before you spend any points in the other trees.

You don't.

Just make sure it's marked at the "Data Files" option in the launcher, as well as Skyrim.esm and the game will write it automatically to that plugins.txt file.

EDIT: You figured it out... Sad

Aye, it was more of a rhetorical pondering. I figured perhaps it was due to load order (selecting files in the Data Files launcher organises them by NAME when writing to plugins.txt, which is going to cause a lot of shit for LO down the line) but I tested it anyhow and it works just fine. There's barely any difference in jump height (not enough to feel, at least) using 85/100/125... so I'm going with 150 for now. 300 is insane, by the way, and I LOVE the fact that there are actual aerial animations now =)

@Ekitelestes

Works perfectly. Be warned though: MODav adds the x value to your current -- so if you use "modav carryweight 500" you'll have your existing weight + 500. unlike SETav, it's also permanent so it will stick during save loads. Oh and it's a console cheat command, so it may disable Steam achievements... if you're into that Very Happy

IMO the entire smithing branch is very important, not only for drastically improving your armour, but also constructing newer pieces without having to find them in loot. Oh and dragon-bone armour Very Happy

Not disagreeing with your post but smithing IS useful.
I personally think it's pretty broken in combination with high Health (around 300+) and a high armor rating (50+).
I had around 500 armor when I was lvl35 and everything hit me for NOTHING.
I was a breton (+25% magicka resist) using the Lord stone (+50 armor +25% resist magicka) and NOTHING could hit me for anything even remotely hard.

Smithing isn't about crafting armor and weapons, it's about IMPROVING them (to ridiculous levels).

But yeah, not focussing on combat skills (which includes smithing unless you're a robe wearing mage) WILL break your character.

Yes, absolutely... BUT! There's no reason to not take both, they're not mutually exclusive. It's far, far easier to level smithing though as enchanting requires soul gems which are expensive and rare.
