Opening cinematic was pretty kick ass. So far it feels like the same ol half assed "stealth" game play but nonetheless, they are still great games and this one looks like more of the same so far.

I must say i am not to fond of all the new elements they have put in, Den Defense for example... I just reached sequence 3 too and i hope the story picks up.

den defense is the crappiest example of tower defense in existence, but fortunately you can avoid it almost entirely. the story picks up @sequence 5 or so, including AC1 aftermath/epilogue

So how exactly does on access the copy of Assassin's Creed 1 on the PS3 version? O.o

And one thing I've been wondering is for what purpose can you buy books at the book shops?

Desmond looks like totally different guy

Still wondering what the books are for though :/

And why the hell does renovating shops raise templar awareness? "Oh noes! Somebody's restoring commerce to the city! Must be an evil assassin!" O.o

Same reason we had paintings in the previous 2.
So in short no reason whatsoever.

And yeah renovating becoming a bit notorious is rather stupid.

It's just another example of their half assing at work. I'm gonna blame greed on the publisher's behalf and hope that's the reason they keep half baking everything. They've sure had enough time to perfect the little things like that. I'm no Apple fan but damn I wish the management at some of these studios had the desire for perfection and doing things properly like Steve Jobs had. It's so apparent how much stuff is rushed out the door to meet a deadline nowadays.

Also for anyone having trouble finding animus fragments and/or the 10 page document thing - run around with your eagle vision on and they'll show up on the map, even if you don't see them yourself it seems that just looking in the direction of it once you are in a certain vicinity is enough to make them pop up on the map. You don't have to see it, it will get logged. After you collect 30 of them you get access to a map that reveals the document locations and after you collect 50 you get to buy a map with the animus fragment locations.

honestly dont get all the complaints, the game for me has been leaps and bounds the best AC in the series, i feel like they have got everything right, and balanced especially the money system, which use to overrun you with nothing to buy, now 30 hrs in and i am still broke from all the shit i gotta buy

Errrr. The game just handed me a complete set of master assassin's armor. And I don't know why. I'm in sequence 3 memory 9. I've been basically doing everything but the story so far.
Why the hell did I just get that armor? (I'll just go ahead an assume it's one of the if not the best armor of the game?)

I can't speak for everyone but for me, the money system is unnecessary, at least in the way they provide it to you. Go buy a shop, wait, and voila! Free cashy money! If they wanted to add in that element they should've done it right but it's like everything in this series since part 2, it's been half assed. Let's add a bunch of cool shit, but we'll half ass all of it instead of finding a few good elements and reallly focusing on them before adding new things into it. My opinion, they still haven't taken advantage of the potential this series has to offer. It's like they're doing just enough to get by.

At any rate they're not awful games by any means. My pick for the best would be the first game. It was something new and I really liked the cold, sterile environment that was portrayed and the feeling you got when you came out of the animus. You were wondering - what was gonna happen to this dude next? Even the detail, the grainy film like appearance of it, added to it (which they've used again during the Desmond sequences). I was really put off by the setting of the last 2 games. I found the renaissance to be boring and uninteresting but this one seems to be a better choice. I really wish they'd go for the samurai or ninja ancestor which would be pretty cool, but I have a feeling if there is another ancestor after this one it will most likely be in the 1800's, aka the wild west. After all, it worked for Rockstar...

Anyway, i'm not bashing the game or series per say. It's just the potential thing. It could've been so much more than what was given.

Well you have to admit that Desmond Miles is american and while it certainly could be possible to fit an asian ancestor somewhere in there I think I'd feel pretty shoe horned :/

What I loved about the previous one was the plot outside the animus. Desmond's story so to speak. Sadly so far there's none of that in AC: Revelations (except the Desmond journey thingies - though they had me really surprised) The first person-puzzle-block-setting idea is... certainly unique.
It's true that they half ass most the stuff they do but if they polish them? The next game would be even better.
I mean the Assassin's guild stuff that was added with Brotherhood and expanded in Revelations is a cool idea but in some parts it just falls flat.
And to see what they came up with in a year after the release of Brotherhood? Quite interesting to say the least.
One thing I thought I'd enjoy when I first encountered it but by now HATE is the Den Defense mini game. Just annoying, almost impossible to control and just no fun. :/
Anyways. Off to play some more.

Gotta agree with the reviewers about the fact this game aint very exciting after playing some hours. Too many dumb/out of place/lame mechanics are present now. I was taking over a den (well not really since they respawn/get retaken now) and encountered hordes of bomb/gun spamming templars which took the last fun out of the combat system.. The whole stealth element has been trown out of the window it seems.

Oh well, glad i didn't give ubicrap my infinite moneyz for this piece of shit.

Begining of the game was fun and I liked it. In general , it's not that bad , but it can be boring at times..fun factor disappeared in some generic sections of the game and they seriously need to take a break from this series , at least for a year. Im ~ 6h into the game and there were boring generic parts .. that I already saw many times in previous ones. Some bugs and annoying situations are also present , need more polish..and I agree bring on feudal Japan ffs , that would be awesome !!

A while ago I rated AC series..

Assassins Creed 7.0 / 10
Assassins Creed II 8.5 / 10
Assassins Creed Brotherhood 9.0 / 10
Assassins Creed Revelations 7.7 / 10 so far..not a final score , we'll see..

I have yet to find out what happens if all of you're den's have a master assassin as a den master. Does that mean my dens can't even be attacked anymore? So is there any reason left I should give a damn about the templar awareness?

edit:
and the mediterranean defense thingie? Way to big of a timesink. Find myself doing nothing else at the moment. Trying to take over cities fill them up with my assassins, recruit new assassins. Rinse and repeat. :/

edit²:
in the mediterranean defense menu it says ie a city give 750xp/day Is that for all your assassins or the assassins in the city? This game does a good job of not explaining it's mechanics.

I think I've hit a bug where no money goes into the bank. I was playing two hours and nothing. I've heard the jingle twice during a cutscene but the bank remains empty

Just completed it! What an ending! The Desmond sequences are awesome! Only 30 animus fragments so got to keep searching for more to be able to play the rest of them. Done 4 of them so far. The main story was kinda short tho.

8.5/10

9, sadly three of the sequences are much shorter than the rest. Id say if you only do main story the game is only around 6-7 hours. I think iv played around 12 hours. Lots of stuff to buy as always. Also lots of stuff to find Wink

Tomorrow ill try to complete NFS: The run.

AND THEN(!!!) finally im back to Skyrim again! Good thing there are next to no games next month so I can take it easy and have proper fun with Skyrim. Played 10 hours, but gonna play the shit out of it before I complete main story!

Now for some beer and two and a half men! Smile
