I complaint about breaking bad last season, the last few episodes were excellent. But did I find the first 8 boring ass episodes justified? Not at all. They could crop the very thin plot of the first 8 episodes easily in 2-3 episode. But then we would only have like 5-6 episodes for the season, which is bad for business. |
exactly what's going on here. the entire season could be 5 episodes. But they're stretching it out, cause it's easier + money. its not a bad thing. And i think the first episodes of brba were excellent.

Spoiler: | Anyone thought the saving the zombie from the well was stupid? I mean, he had been in there so long that he started to blow up, wouldn't the water been contaminated anyways, shooting him or not? On top of that, they nearly sacrificed the asian dude to put a rope around him that they as well could had managed without lowering anyone down the well.....I just felt the whole time "wtf are they doing??" |
|
Indeed it was awfull to watch in the previous season the redneck would have saved them some time and said fuck this and *paff* zomby dead.

I'd take six eps of good pacing and thriller instead of ten eps, of which five are a borefest.

I just felt they had the event because if not, there wouldn't had been a zombie in the whole episode and that would had looked bad when the show is named "the walking dead". Felt very forced and not even needed...

the only good thing so far is the social story it contains: a group of ppl that is forced to saty together to survive, limited in many ways and with the uncertainty of tomorrow's, trying to live the day the best they can. so the real walking deaths are the survivors.

The zombie in the well was not pointless. Its presence raised an important question which will become relevant pretty soon.

Exactly.. wait for it.. hence why I love the drama/suspense..
Like I said.. this series is a THINKING-MAN's Zack experience whereas 90% of the others are just mindless action/survival.

What important question. This season so far didn't touch my intellectual thinking one bit (because so many stupid shit happened, suicide mission to get medicine, having sex in the drugstore, lowering the korean in the well, Andrea ambushed by zombie in forest because she was separated from the group, letting Carl continue the search with his dad instead of heading back to camp etc etc.), so dunno why I should bother now.
Maybe because you have read the comics, but me, well the show didn't give any hints so far. Only thing I can think about is, that farmer old guy is acting weird, he doesn't want anyone to stay.
Been bitching about this show so far, but I like this show more than Dexter. Dexter is a better show, but zombies > all.

Yep. I won't give anything away, but there are various clues in episode 4 as to what he is acting weird about. It's not just that he doesn't want them to stay, he also doesn't want them to do something else also...
I think the farm arc will come to a head by episode 7, leaving a cliffhanger before the hiatus.

Just watched it, usually I'm all in for slow paced episodes but this one was weak and predictable in every aspect, and the bland/uninteresting dialogues didn't help at all :/
What cirithungol said gave me some motivation for the next episodes though
@kumkss: yeah

Can someone go ahead and spoil the shit out of it with a spoiler? I keep downloading this for my wife and I catch bits and pieces here and there and frankly it pisses me off. These fuckers are almost as bad as that sorry ass V for dragging shit out. Say what you want about it but all they're doing is milking air time for adverts. There could be a good mixture of drama and action without ending the season in 6 episodes.
Anyone that's read the comics and would like to, by all means, tag it with a spoiler and lay it out for me

I guess all the people bitching about the slow pace have not read the comic. The comic is the same way some issues are action packed while others are just them surviving and kinda boring but as a whole it is an awesome comic.
@killabyte
do you want the farm story arc spoiled or just a general spoiler of who lives and dies and such?

Spoiler: | confused: Im sure the last one i watched the boy was shot and recovered, s204 i swear it was that one lol, and it ended with showing the police dude had shot dead that guy from the vets place just to save his own skin.
now I get to e05 and its starting with the usual survivors with all these other people I have no fucking clue who they are and some bloke is telling that shaven head lady to fuck off sharing they're food out to these people... what in the fuck? I feel like im in a fringe episode.
enlighten me, is this some off beaten track episode bull crap that dont tow the line from the last or something else. Not to mention there is a fucking helicpoter or two flying above then all and as far as i recall there was nobody around like that |
have I lost a weeks episode? im beginning to think im missing a whole week out here somehow.. I dont know where that time has gone wtf lol.. I must check back through the numbers.

Spoiler: | The episode that ended with Shane killing Otis was episode 3.
Episode 4 is the one with the zombie in the well.
Episode 5 begins with a flashback to before/during the outbreak... the "some bloke" is Carol's (shaven headed lady) husband who died in season 1. |

The one you thought about with the shooting is episode 3, episode deals with a well and the asian kid, Glenn was it?
And the thing you actually see in the beginning of this episode is a flashback, to the point where they just met the people that will be in the current convoy of survivors and they're headed to the refugee center that was established in Atlanta (as you were told earlier in the series, was lost to the zombies). As you can see that short haired women has her daughter and her dead husband beside here, Shane even has long hair.

If you're looking for some action you'd better stay away from this season, it's slower and with more drama than S1

here is the Walking Dead wiki it will give you a good idea where the story is going
http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Storyline
Spoiler: | As of right now in the comics these people are dead
Carl kills Shane
Lori and her new baby are killed at the prison
Dale gets bitten then captured by cannibals then saved by Rick but he's bitten so dead
In the last few issues Carl got shot in the head but is still alive. Haven't had a chance to read the most recent two issues yet but this should give you what you want. There are many other characters that die but they have not been in the tv show yet. |
