Am i the only one that doesn't find the game that great?
And they totally ruined Shaundi as a character in this one...

I am actualy quite dissapointed too.
The (lack of) driving physics is a really big turn down. Camera for driving sucks bigtime too, and no option to change....
And having everything from start (thanks to skidrows derpetry) is really lame.
And game runs choppy all the time, no matter if i set graphics at full or lowest.
I hate you.

I found a way to circumvent the whole DLC unlocked + infinite cash weapons etc cheats.
I downloaded the Steam Unlocked P2P version and applied that 2GB (which I think extracted to 4GB) patch files.
Then I simply copied both cracked EXE files from the SKIDROW crack into my extracted folder. Use ONLY the exe files, DO NOT use the other cracked files provided with the SKIDROW crack.
The final piece of the puzzle is the steam_appid.txt file. There isn't one supplied with the game, neither with the SKIDROW cracked files. So you'll manually need to create one.
Then you simply need to find a app id that will allow you to save the game. Now, just for safety, I don't want to give you the app id I'm using at the moment, seeing that I'm afraid they'll ban it and it won't work with the game anymore, so you could try and test with id 38750.
Keep in mind, I used SmartSteam in the background the whole time. If that ID doesn't work, you just need to find one that does. In order to know if the ID will work or not, you'll get a message telling you "there isn't enough space on the storage device to create a save game" if the ID doesn't work, when u want to start a new game.
If you start a new game and it doesn't give u that message, then you'd know that the ID is working.
So just to summarize, you'll need:
1) SmartSteam
2) Only the cracked EXE files from the SKIDROW crack
3) A working app id for usage in conjunction with SmartSteam
4) Play the game like it's meant to be played
There is no way for it to work any other way without steam, so unless SKIDROW releases a crack fix, then this is the only working method to do it without the cheats / dlc enabled.
Test this out with the SKIDROW version, as I've only tested it with the P2P unlocked version, but it should work fine with the SKIDROW version, if you stick to only copying the 2 exe files only and use smartsteam + steam_appid.txt with a working ID.
The only thing that I ask of you, once again, is to credit me for this fix. Shouldn't be too hard to find a working ID, if you try a few

I didn't like SR2 for whatever reason. This is much more fun to me. Any way to change the FOV? It's nauseatingly narrow. Searched and looked through thread didn't find anything.

I definately miss the real Shaundi... what the fuck is with this new one?! I understand it's part of the plot and whatever, but all the main characters from the previous game seem much more unlikeable now. I'm also wondering what the hell's with the small city... I don't know, they fixed some things from SR2, but they also made others worse and it's not really a better game, it's a bit worse or pretty much the same. The thing here is that I expected this to be a better game in every way because it was presented so and it's not. Also, the amount of DLCs on release + the ones already planned is insane, what the fuck Volition? I don't want an episodic game or whatever you want to do with this, I want a complete game. I wanted to buy it, but that's why I didn't, because of this whole DLC-thing they have going on for it. Oh well, I still like the game and I'll play it until I do pretty much everything in it, but...

So I've tried the method monkii posted but after trying around 20 appids I can't get it to work. Any advice or am I just unlucky?

Well, I uninstalled the game until there's a FOV fix. Right now it's broken by design. Glad I didn't buy it, even though otherwise it looks like a great game.

I have to join the "unlocked" haters lot. It breaks the game for me - being able to buy everything without any effort from me. And is there any fix for that shitty motion blur it hurts me every time I turn the camera?

true, its somewhat cumbersome and requires steam but works, it'll have to do until skidrow gets their shit together.
btw, anyone knows how can i tinker with the "display.ini" in skidrow's release?
its meant to be in the Steam folder but with skidrow its not, instead there is one in the game folder which dont have any settings to change only description of the ini purpose

glad it works for you.. the game is more fun and challenging without the unlocked stuff.. anyway, about the display.ini, mine is the old decrypted+updated version, not the skidrow one, and the display.ini in my folder works fine, i can change the resolution there, which i can't ingame
@ neeger93 .. i don't know why it doesn't work for you, are you sure you have all the correct files? last resort is try to run the game as admin, which worked for me

well, you can turn off all those unlocked bonus with the fix i posted if you don't mind having steam on.. as for motion blur, there's an option to turn it off in display.ini in the game main folder

The only real problem I had with the game was that it was too short.
Writing was great, made me laugh quite a few times. Characters and the voice acting is great as well, a massive improvement over the past games. Shooting feels better than the previous games as well, as does the driving.
I just hope I'll be able to pirate the DLC.

Is there a save game fix? I got the skidrow version...finally got the game to work...but now I can't save any games. When I start a new game, an error says that there is not enough space to save a game.
Any fix to this? Don't want to start the game without being able to save.

Just beat it. Not a bad game, but the story was underwhelming and lacking a lot of stuff, plus the side activities were a bit boring.

same here buddy 
it was working for me before with the smart steam method (no bonuses) but i prefer playing it with a simple crack, now with this modified crack i get the "not enough space" message.
also, graphic settings wont stick and gets reset every time i start the game
if you find a solution, do share 
edit - well, not sure if it was supposed to be this way, but i added the rest of the files from the original skidrow crack (clean skidrow release + modified exe's by Xav + the other files from skidrow crack ) and i believe it saves just fine now.
no bonuses, but im not sure the DLC's are there also, cant confirm right now as im just in the intro and dont have time to play through it at the moment, but in the main menu nothing happens when i click the "downloadable content", will check later and report.
anyone can make any sense out of this mess?
