I must say I really like this game. I love how they the graphics looks like a fresco painting or water colour. The Wii really starting to feel dated, but with this type of art direction it can still deliver.
As for the game itsself, I haven't felt as drawn into a Zelda game since A Link to the Past. Not saying I don't like Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. They're both good games and I have the 3D-remake of OoT. But this one felt a little different, the whole sky-islands felt very nice and gave a sense of freedom roaming around on your bird high up in the sky. Very Avatar-ish..(the movie).
I also think this Zelda has a different feel to it as for the story. Feels a little darker, still the same story about Zelda being kidnapped but it feels more interesting (at least to me?). Still though, it is Zelda, and Zelda are all about visiting different dungeons, collect the tresure and kill the boss. Not much changed there I think. There seem to be some new things though, like you're able to upgrade your equipment. You get stuff from killing enemies and those things can be taken to a smithy and he can upgrade your shield or sword. I haven't played that much though because I'm all into Skyrim at the moment.
I think the Wiimotion plus thing works great too. Nintendo really managed to do with "plus" what it is supposed to be used for. No more just flicking the wiimote and Link swings. You have to used strategy when fighting because the monsters blocks at different directions, which mean you have watch what they do and cut where they have their defense down. On top of that you have to watch your own defense and raise your shield to block etc. Actually every fight are a different kind of challenge where you can get your ass handed to you if you do not pay attention.
It is interesting enough for me to dig my teeth into it though. But for now my attention goes to Skyrim so Zelda will have to wait. But from just testing it I love what I see!

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback. I had a little go yesterday, and really enjoyed it too. I didn't have to use Pimp My Wii, I just downloaded the latest CFG USB loader and away I went (not touched it for a year either!)
One thing though, it doesnt look like you can save wherever you want? I couldn't find it in the menu and I didn't play far enough to get offered to save- thus all my efforts (30mins?) were wasted!

There are bird statues a little here and there where you can save, and the game save itself after big cut scenes. So no, you can't save when ever you want. But when you learn where the statues are it is easy to run back to one and save. I think the first statue are right outside the academy you start in actually?

I downloaded it, burnt at 2x.. And it plays fine and saves.
Wonder why some having problems with it working or saving

Just finished the first temple and i must say it's a great game thus far. A bit clunky controls at times, but it works. Don't like some of the changes though, and some i do like.

so with the CFG USB loader i dont need to softmod my wii first?

wish i could afford a machine capable of doing that, but you're talking 200+ for the CPU, 200+ for the GPU alone.

Gahhh! I have Pimped my bloody WII so many times this morning, still cannot get this to laod. Just restarts the WII. Any ideas?

i dunno much about softmodded wii's since i have had a wiikey right from the start.
But i remember other Wii+ motion games on wii you have to watch the wii+ video before the game will run. To do this on softmods you had to select 'use alternate dol' or something in the loader options, watch the video then change back the option to normal dol... again i dun know much about softmods so appologise if this info is incorrect

No, you just have to prevent it from letting it check for firmware updates. There is an option in there, somewhere, but I just sold my Wii so I'm not sure what's it called anymore. Sorry :/

Its not softmodded mate, has a chip in it (I'm not sure what as I bought it pre-chipped)

plus pimpmywii finds no problems at all, but it still wont work
edit:
Anyone else having problems playing this off the HD change the dol to player in the game options (from main) then change it back once you have watched the vid.
Game works now.

Well I'm playing this on my Wii and I don't think it looks very pretty. Quite often I get verticle lines going down some surfaces. Also, it looks like an N64 game - no AA at all and pretty damn ugly.
I didn't update ANYTHING to get this working, and now I'm wondering if there are different iOS's that need to be updates in order to get it looking better?
Or is it just that ugly?

I don't think IOS's have any impact on graphic quality or indeed, any impact on the actual game itself apart from the ability to run it, although I could be wrong.

So... With the thunder dragon i did some challenges and he said "next round i'll net you a piece of hart" and such things. But after each match i only got 50 rupes every single time. What the hell.
