Well, just played the demo and have to say the decision to move away from olden times (1400's and 1700's) was a BIG mistake IMO. This was going to be one of those games I would buy without even bothering with the demo but I am glad I did. Oh well i'll reinstall anno 1404 and play through that again Sad

I honestly can't imagine how they could dramatically improve the 1404 game while staying at that era again. They had 2 options: Future or prehistoric era.

Played the demo and it was fun, i could taste the 1404 there, but it was a good kind of taste, not the bad one.

I can absolutely see why they went with the 'future' option and of course I was well aware about this game, but it just does not feel right to me. Only played the demo but personally I would have preferred something around the norman conquest or perhaps a tad later.

Each to their own though.

Personally, I much prefer the futuristic setting to the medieval one. There's only so much you can do with sailboats.

I still hope for an Egypt-themed Anno. Instead of islands, you would have the Nile and small pockets of oases scattered around. Instead of just boats (which are only usable on the river), you could have caravans that are able to travel in the desert (which can serve as the new sea for the game).

Future was the inevitable choice and I really enjoyed the demo, although Anno 1404 will probably remain my favourite in terms of historical timeline.

The demo didn't quite convince me, but it's looking good... now if only someone would crack it...

The futuristic setting will be nice for a change but I hope afterwards they go back to a classic setting. Really curious how they implemented the whole pollution and environmental disasters affair.

I bought this on yuplay.ru and it activated fine. Used the uncracked multi6 p2p release because the yuplay download is in RUS.

So yeah, rus key, US client and everything is working fine for me. 16 USD or whatever ...

I believe Anno 1404 had a survey at the end, you could answer what kind of Anno you would like to see next. I answered that one and voted for a future version of Anno, lo and behold, here it is!

So far I'm having quite a bit of fun. I feel like I'm some kind of CEO type person having my say in big decisions.

Definitely worth the purchase.

Tages, Solidshield, Ubi launcher, one-time online activation.

Game has a bunch of online features like quest/events that you can complete to unlock perks, in addition to usual multiplayer.

I remember that it was the same for 1404 release. I bought a key and then the game was cracked 2 days later huhu Smile

Really liked 1404, bit skeptic about the future setting, but im sure it will be a good game, maybe not as good as 1404 tho.

Not sure what setting they should go for tho. Something with less islands Smile

Maybe Inca? End of 1400 end of 1500. You could choose to play as the Inca Empire or as Spanish conquistadors.

Or maybe something based around the holy inquisition.
