PC DirectX 11 Issues Please Read

We have received reports of performance issues from players of Batman: Arkham City on PC. After researching the matter, we found that running the game with DX 11 is causing the performance issues. We’re working on a title update to address this matter and expect to make it available in the near future.

In the meantime, a workaround for this issue is to run the game with DX 9 instead of DX 11. Instructions on how to turn off DX 11 are listed below.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience with your gameplay experience and thank you all for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

So we have to wait for a month or two for the update to be made and to pass Microsoft's certification process.

So, it says that the game is released in Europe and I see the game in New Releases but when I click it it says Item Not Available in Your Region and nobody, including me, can install it atm. No install button... Wtf Warner Bros.

hands down, this could be one of the worst handled international releases ever. overpriced, delayed twice, poorly optimised and now removed from certain regions Very Happy

@ hawkeye

steam://install/57400

try that and see if it starts installing.

i did that yesterday before this whole region removal mess started, and this morning there was a play button that let me decrypt the files and play the game anyway.

The game is awesome so far IMO. I like how it's very non-linear and that you can do all the side missions and such. I've only played about 1.5 hours-2 hours, but am only 1% done with the game. I've read it's like 60+ hours easily. DX 11 is FUBAR, but still looks awesome in DX9 mode. Other than Skyrim, I have a feeling this will be right up there for GOTY.

what version did you get? retail or steam? P2P? If its the retail disc I think it only has GFWL and no steam, and all the GFWL games install fine even if you enter all x or 0, but when you start the game it will prompt you for real serial number, you have to cancel it and stay offline unless you have a real serial. Dirt 3 is the only one I remember that won't let you save the same unless you go online.

for me, dx9 is the only way to play it. dx11 is unplayable (atleast at the resolution im playing)

which is fucking annoying given all the highly promoted and hyped features of the pc version are handily located within. seriously what the fuck is this mess... youd swear this was a game developed by amateurs and published by a new company stumbling its way through its first release.

$60 isn't too bad, but... i had trouble talking myself into $40 if i couldn't squeeze at least 60 hours from it, 80 if i wanted, hundreds if i was gonna buy multiple copies.

Aside from the occasional stuttering DX11 works OK here, introduction section had the worst of it and I am unsure what causes it to stutter like this but to me it's something to do with the streaming of data when loading new areas or levels though that is just a guess.

Still it's fully playable.

EDIT: As for 60$ the price conversion I did puts the copy I bought at 30 Euro.

(EDIT: About ~40 USD.)

works on steam? i might just go for it for $40 if it's steamable to be honest.
if not, do i need origin? or a clone to use that? and will being in the US matter?

was averaging 20ish fps during the first section, but i run a 2560x1600 resolution, so id imagine its probably playable for people using a lower res, but for me... ill just pin my hopes on rocksteady bringing out a dx11 patch.

probably mid feb 2012 im guessing...

The above is the retail / LIVE and SecuROM version which goes outside of Steam so if that's what you are looking for then unfortunately it won't support Steamworks.

Also yeah I forgot you used a 2560 resolution Chiv, that would magnify any performance related problems a bit due to the increased amount of pixels to render or how it's called. Smile
