i think if they have both melee and a bow that they can use and you pull out a bow they'll switch too but not positive.
it's even worse with the damn dog vigilance that i had, it got to the point where i just told him to wait immediately after entering a dungeon.

nothing more enjoyable than stealthing through a dungeon then getting a spiked mace in the face because she clumsily walked over a floor trigger

atleast the clever girl gets out her bow when theres a dragon flying around

@Tr1ples1xer
There is no original file in that location, bud. The files are contained within the .BSA archives. Just delete the "broken" inventorylists.swf and the game will revert to reading the one out of the BSA instead. You can simply extract the .BSAs (possibly they Skyrim - Interface.bsa) in order to get the original file if you really want it.

No worries! That's the excellent nature of modding for games like this (and plenty of others too) - the game will look in specific folders for updated files first and if it can't find them, will just revert to the standard archives instead.

I'm trying to install this arrowsmith mod, but it's asking me to go through my steam folder to achieve it; being a pirated game, that isn't an option. Anyone know how to install mods to the client?

SO... ima about to lay down some mad enchantment skills on my bow... what should i take? i can double enchant, and im thinking ice is probably a good way to go? what about paralyze for the second enchantment? does paralyse work often enough to make it worth it, or is it a wasted enchant?
im thinking paralyze for 2 seconds + 15 frost damage and i get 114 shots for a grand soul stone...
thoughtz?
OR i could do 15 damage frost, 15 shock, for 154 hits?

doesnt frost slow people things down though? atleast some of the time? is paralyze really worthwhile on a bow? a 2 second paralyze, if it happens, is that really going to be all that beneficial?
starting to think frost + shock might be more beneficial, in a kill-em-quicker kinda way...

Nvm those drivers, causing new issues:
Quote: | Well I just tried them in Skyrim and I get flickering in water and in water falls in the town up north (cant remember name.). Crossfire is working though but god knows what else flickers. Will uninstall this and retry to see if I get problem installing this time. I am using CCleaner and Driver sweeper btw. |
and
Quote: | 11.11b show no improvement over 11.11a for me. Yes, I can now enable CF for Skyrim, but I'm still getting negative scaling.
I get about 43-47 fps at a certain view in Windhelm with a single 6870, and 38-43 with my second 6870 enabled.
If the release notes mention some kind of Skyrim CF performance improvement, I would like to know what they're talking about because I can't see it... |

i have soultrap on another bow. was using it to fill mad loads of stones to boost my enchanting stats.i figure ill use that every now and then just to keep my soul stone count up
meh i think ima go with frost and shock and see how i like it. i have some daedra hearts left over, so i can always make another bow if i want to try paralyze/frost or whatever.

Well fuck me, i cannot get this game to run at all anymore.
EVERYTIME when i see main menu, press 1 button (mouse/kb/360pad) and instant CTD.
Tryed reinstalling and removing configs (even renamed whole skyrim folder in my games), 4gb enabled, nothing works...
Any idea how i can find out what this is caused by (as there is no error log, atleast not one i know of)

has anyone ran into random mercs walking around on jobs? i have seen two now, you can ask them whats up and they will say they are looking into some trouble in the area, and you can try to speechcraft them into letting you help or take over the job or something. i failed both times so i dont know what the result is supposed to be and it killed me just walking away from a potential mission lol. tried to follow one of them and he eventually vanished after about 15 mins of walking at the slowest possible pace into the middle of nowhere.

Personally I'd say paralyze isn't all that useful especially when you're using a bow, the reason being, you absolutely do not want your target to just drop down lying on the floor. You've basically just made them prone, in other words, harder to hit. The same thing happened in Oblivion as you hit level 100 in marksman.
Also with the way the clipping works in this game and hit cages, sometimes arrows don't hurt an enemy that is lying down even though the arrow is clearly hitting it.
This is the reason why I haven't taken the paralyze perk in archery even though I'm at level 100 in it. The stagger perk is much more useful since it leaves them standing in the same spot. I would've preferred it if the top perk in archery was just a longer stagger.
