My worries about this game is that PvP will be a matter of gear and not actual skills like it is in say WoW.

Not really that important but if I could have early access it would be nice.

G2play has it for 43 euros.

wow what a lagfest, I understand stress testing the servers, but the lag is rediculous, lol.... not my rig, the servers are hammered
2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64

Uhh, performance is horrible on my laptop. This maybe scares me away a bit. Maybe it will be improved on launch?
Though enjoying the game so far. Tried Sith Warrior, Bounty Hunter and Jedi Consular.
Maybe I'll roll a dark side Jedi knight when the game comes out.

Bah, i want to give this a try, but the shadows are so fucking bugged for me... Even putting the slider halfway, then every shadow is completely gone.
Is there noone else with same problem?

Dude you assumed I would complain if gear didn't have that much to say and I responded with I've been playing EVE since 2006, as a rebuttal. Then you respond with me being an elitist EVE player. Now what it is? Would I complain if gear didn't matter that much or am I elitist? Make up your mind son. Next time don't assume too much.
If gear would matter to me why am I basically flying the same ships with the same mods in EVE Online today as I was 4-5 years ago? I hate gear centric games. I don't feel like putting in all the required hours to stay viable in PvP.

I don't like playing PvP for gear. That's what I liked about Guild Wars among other things. Everyone had access to same equipment (kind of, you still had to play few matches to unlock stuff you wanted, which probably was pain in the ass for newer players as it is in most MMORPGs).
Other than that I must say I am not that impressed. I got over the fact that combat is just like WoW but with cannons, guns and light sabers. Voice acting is rather nice addition but to me it looks like it was major selling point in SWTOR and it took huge chunk of development budget and time at expense of gameplay and game design. Story is...well BioWare quality (whether it's a good or bad thing I leave up to you)
World design looks nice at first but sooner or later you'll realize it's just a corridor, there's very little or nothing to explore. World in WoW or Rift and alike are crafted better in my opinion as they offer more open areas. Graphics don't trouble me much, but to say the least they're underwhelming in this day and age. All in all it kinda reminded me a bit Allods Online F2P in many ways in this regard.
Overall game didn't impress me much, it's not a bad game per se, but nothing out of the ordinary that'd make me buy the final game. I bet it will be hugely successful but I'm really looking forward to seeing how many subs will SWTOR keep after initial first months.

that aside, saying WoW's pvp is not skill based but item based .. please ...
yeah, very different from any RPG game really.... a naked guy should be able to win against someone in full epic gear .. sure ...
and telling people its not skill but items only, is just a cheap excuse.
Now go ahead, call me a fanboy (anyone) like you always do in this cases lol.

so just to clarify, you wont be able to use your beta character with the retail version?
Its kinda a shame to lose my sith marauder after all the killing and such...

yes dude, you are correct, you cannot use your character from the BETA in the RETAIL release...

Have you ever visited the planet earth Sin? Really. Pay attention to what's being said instead of just guessing and diving into a discussion guns blazing. He was the one saying I would complain if gear didn't count as much not me so don't tell me who's assuming here.

This is an assumption and a wrong assumption at that. Because I fucking hate item based PvP.
And while we're speaking of WoW.. yeah it's one of the worst examples of a gear based MMO there is. At least it was when I played the game a few years ago. You can "please" all you want but it doesn't change a fact everyone except of the WoW-bois all know. Items shoudl definitely count obviously, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor over who will win. Items should be the deciding factor over who would win when two equally skilled players PvP. Skills should always be the most important factor in my opinion. That's why I still play EVE after all those years. If a few WoW-players find that elitist... let's just say I can live with that and I won't loose any sleep over it.
